As bizarre as this sounds, I don't think the Leafs trade for a centre.

Although it's not good enough to win us a Stanley Cup, we are set with Bozak, Kadri, Bolland, McClement.

Although I suppose you can now deal Bozak, now that we have his BFF locked in for the rest of his career.

Now that would be funny

thank you, and this is correct.

at least grabo could finish a goal if he ever played with phil and had the set ups...

bozak only scores on breakaways and shootouts

Grabs is a head case and I don't think was well liked by team mates.
Grabs is the type of player that needs to play with a chip on his shoulder to be successful, like when he came over from Montreal. When he loses that "edge", he is just not the same player.

leafs made the right move by moving Grabs, good for them and good for Capitals.

agreed. Offensive dman can come in and be good at 19. Name one Defensive dman ever tha was a monster right away. Totally different position.

It's all about Corsi.

And Fenwick.

Or something like that.

I know Toronto won on Saturday night, but if you look at the advanced stats, Ottawa really one 4.899345 to 3.14159.

actually, he was more of an offensive dman in the 80s early 90s. He didnt become the shutdown machine until later in his career.

And you named the best shutdown d of all time one could argue..just saying

It was a diabolical plan from Nonis. Signup the BFF and the real star will stay with us. Now we can safely trade him away.

Ingenious I tell ya

I would agree with this - a solid stay at home D is more important to this team than another C - especially if Bolland keeps playing the way he's been playing and stays healthy and if Kadri keeps progressing.

Gardiner + for Giordani?

Clarkson brings MUCH more to a game than Grabovski does......

The bad attitude stuff is probably over blown and whether it's factual and warranted, or not, it seems the coach felt that way.

Grabovski with Kessel doesn't work, it was tried. Kadri was not experienced enough to be the #1.

- Mr_Smokey

clarkson has not played 1 reg season game yet for the leafs

grabovski brought the 2nd most points since kessel joined the team.

grabo with kessel did work, but it was so rare it happend because of the love affair of 81 and 42. check the stats, i wouldnt make it up

and i agree kadri is not experienced enough to be the #1.

i get frustrated because ppl on here treat it like it's EA sports nhl 2014. There are so many variables, but of course grabo will get more pts than bozak so he MUST be a better fit on the leafs

If there aren't hockey games on TV, I'm just drinking alone for no reason.

He wasn't very good defensively dude to start his career. And as he got older, he adapted from an offensive "hybrid" into that stay at home beast with a big shot.

Bottom line is he wouldn't perform here the same way...it's not rocket science.
Grabovksi has something to prove right now, when that is done he will not be the same player you are seeing right now.

Bozak signing was the right move for the Leafs - and no one even knows if that was a huge factor in Kessel staying either. Imagine Leafs let Bozak walk, Grabovski plays like last year and Kessel leaves at the end of this year. What a mess the Leafs would be in.
