I think the Pens game is Lavy's last stand if things keep going this way. The Flyers have six days off after that game. Could have a "mini" training camp with the new coach if they wanted. I do not want to see Lavi go but I am not sure what else they can do.

If Lavi goes Holmgren better go with him. Not sure how Holmgren keeps his job while Lavi loses his.

The gap you mention could be a system/coaching issue, but blind passes up the middle and weak play along the boards are player issues. That is hockey 101 and there are too many players on this team making fundamental errors...not saying a coaching change won't help, but maybe the talent/hockey IQ is overrated on this team.

I wasn't trying to categorize the passing and boards issues under coaching, just as overall concerns. I hadn't let the coffee kick in before posting.

A lot of these guys packed their 'dumb' when they came to camp, and like the stench of sweat in a post-game dressing room, it just won't go away.

For the love of...you know, when they gassed Hitchcock, at least John Stevens had been a successful coach at the AHL level -- very successful.

When they gassed Stevens, they brought in a guy who had won a Stanley Cup.

This is on Homer entirely. he made a horrible call in letting Laviolette stay after last season. Now Berube has a day to sort stuff out. I am certain Hextall should be ordering furniture for his new GM office.
