WOW Dan, you really have the excuse mill operating in overtime mode.

1. You can't say "No Coach would have touched this team." Better coaches have gone to worse organizations in the past 5-7 years.

2. Tortorella and Vaineault teams both made playoffs last year. Both fired in off season.

3. Shoe string budget?? Wang is a BILLIONAIRE! WITH A B! I can understand being responsible with your money but c'mon - you can't cry poor. He makes other revenue from Isles. The term Hockey related revenue was created by owners' to help HIDE other income for CBA purposes. (parking, concessions, other event ticket sales, web sales, etc)

4. Next year is OK to be pissed? Too late... I'm already there.

5. Going back to last season, this team is blowing 3rd period leads more frequent than a Times Square hooker.

6 No, it's not ALL JT when they win, but he is the face and sets the tone for all others to follow. If KO worked as hard in the off season, we'd see big improvements from him. JT doesn't set lines or tell which players to go on the ice or decide who gets benched. That's all the coach. JT leads by example and he does it harder than anyone on the team.

7. You can't set a porcupine on fire, throw him in the garage and expect to get lemonade!

Finally, I don't care how much you agree with me or not. I'm not worried about winning a popularity contest. Your opinions are just that. Opinions. You don't know much more than anyone else here. You watch for twitter updates and TSN but haven't heard you say...I emailed/spoke with/sat down with Garth and he told me he will sign a Top 3 FWD or All-star caliber goalie next year. We've been hearing "Next year" for more than half a decade. It's obvious that it's just a snow job and I'm not buying it anymore. Garth has missed or passed on opportunities to improve this team. That's a fact. The rebuild should be further along.

This whole piece had me laughing

To be blunt - youre an idiot. See above.

The whole piece you wrote is an opinion.

Isles know how to bring out the passion in the fans. I'm looking at this year as the Isles trying to buy more time for Strome and co. They are not serious contenders yet. I wish they were. Sadly we have more waiting to do. I have no problem if anyone still has doubts about Wang and Co. Despite the problems with the Coli, Wang and Co could have handled things much better than they have. Hopefully we are now on the right path and things appear to be looking up.

I still expect them to make the playoffs, anything short of the post season is a big failure of the season. The guys learned how to play and win last season, no reason to not continue that way this year.

Yep. I remember at one point he was on Mike and Mad Dog talking about how he and Lavi had a close relationship and at the time several players complained at Lavi's tactics to motivate them to MM. The assumption was that one of those guys was Yashin who had his icetime cut at the end of the previous playoff series and MM/Wang determined they couldn't have their franchise guy upset and sent Lavi packing. At that point Peca became an outcast and was soon sent on his way as well.

Laviolette probably got on them for standing around the mail room waiting for the pay checks like animals at a food dish. You know when you really hate most of the players on your own team? Yeah, like that....

100% correct...playoffs or failed season. no reason to regress, they are a young team and only getting more mature, both physically and in terms of the game. if they miss the playoffs, something has gone wrong

I agree. I still expect the playoffs and missing is a big failure. Winning a round will be tough though with the current D and if Nabby has to play too many games.

If we end up facing the Bruins or Pens we will have a tough shot at advancing. Any other team in the east and I think the Isles pass them. This team played at another level in the postseason, my only complaint was Nabby but they may be addressed as we get closer

Jeff Veillette ‏@Jeffler
Holmgren blows $39M on two years of Bryz, gives a cup winner half their core, and trades JVR for a pylon, but its Lavi that gets fired?

No Donovan is one of only 3 islanders that can be sent down without needing to clear waivers.

It's going to be a rollercoaster year SCLI. Some real good things with the same fustrating things as well. I'm going to hope for the best this year and wait to see what happens. If next summer it's the same lousy signing, this board will be something to see. We might as well save our energy.

Why send down the guy playing in favor of the guy you have no intention of dressing this season?

Send Boulton down. He'll clear, and if he doesn't, so what.

I know this is a little late... but anyone who expects pmb to be moved or waived Is absolutely insane. Does anyone not remember how long it took cappy to bench REASONER??! and he also still played in 2 PO games. PMB is no where close to being out of the line up. wake up isles country.

All you need to remember is Reasoner and Pandolfo. PMB is going nowhere.

amen brother. pmb does have alot of potential tho. I'm actually pulling for him. I was very excited about this signing. If he gets his full game together and stays healthy the guy is gonna thrive with this offense. two big IFS I know but I'm pulling.

With Clutterbuck coming back they have to make a roster as they will be one over. Sooo I would think Reinhart goes back to juniors or Nelson goes to bport or Boulton will get waived. Those are the three options
- Dan Petriw

First, Reinharts a defenseman, should not affect him. Nelson has been one of their best forwards, not going anywhere. Bolton could go but either PMB or Regin should sit

fwiw, i think regin is the weakest player on the team

Blocking Lee or Strome. Makes no sense

It will effect Reinhart because they will be one over their limit of players, so someone has to go down. Logically it would be him getting sent back to Jr's.
