I just don't get this firing in Philly........ seriously after 3 games you fire him??
If you didn't have faith in him then the move should have been done in the off season. Doing it 3 games into the season makes no sense.
Won't be long before Holmgren is gone........... He should have been gone first.
Terrible GM - faceto27

well.. maybe the club needed a shakeup.. and sometimes.. flipping your coach is exactly what is needed. even if it isnt justified.
seems more like a last ditch effort to save the season before it gets too far out of control |

I was at a wedding on Saturday night.
How was the game? I only caught the game in 6. Was Reimer bad or was he hung out by the D? - markmark
Both teams were very sloppy defensively. Can't totally blame Reimer but he's had better games. Give the Leafs credit after being down 4-2 in the 2nd. Bernier was brilliant in giving the Leafs a chance. They didn't give up. Bernier's brilliancy & Lupul's late 2nd period goal making it 4-3, seemed to swing the momentum. You just had that feeling it was a only a matter of time that the Leafs would tie it. In the 3rd at 4-4, Bernie continued to shut the door on the Sens. In the OT, Leafs held the play & had many chances to win it. In the SO, I'm sure you've seen Raymond's amazing goal. Best shootout goal ever!! Bernie shuts the door, LEAFS WIN!!! Oh yeah, Mr Reliable on the SO Bozak scores again. |

As I said above, you take a risk drafting a player 1st overall and then holding that asset just to trade at a later date. - bloatedmosquito
Consider it this way. No 18-21 year old defencemen will be impactful at the nhl level, but a forward like yakupov will be. Then once one of those 22-23 year old D men start emerging as the real deal you have a fair tradein place. Having the forward gave you servicee for a few seasons without the development phase. You may want to do this process without trading for Luke Schenn however |

It's kinda silly, the puck stops, player goes backwards - almost impossible to stop
It will be banned eventually imo |

yes, actually you can...
everyone figured Bernier would eventually win the battle for the number one, but didn't think the fight would be over by game 3.

Oh yeah, it's always a risk, but teams are usually gonna bet on that consensus number one elite forward in the draft, it's the best bet |

It's over by game 3 until Bernier loses, then it's back on...which could be by game 4 |

I guess Carlyle is just going to have 2nd line RW auditions while Clarkson and Kulemin are out?
Then halfway through the game when things aren't going well, move Raymond to 2nd line and barely play them anyway?
JVR Bozak Kessel
Lupul Bolland Smith
Raymond Kadri Bodie
Ashton/Devane McClement Orr
Or not. Smith is a natural centre so practice lines are being reported as Lupul perhaps playing RW with Raymond and Bolland. Kadri centres Bodie and McClement. |

3 games in, and Bolland is looking like the Leafs' best centre.
1. Pretty darn good a retrieving and winning battles for the puck both in the attacking zone, and in D-Zone.
2. Great at back-checking and forcing turnovers in the neutral zone.
3. Showing off some pretty darn good hands and passing touch.
4. Nose for the net, and so far ability to finish.
5. Has physical chipiness to his play, and a pretty good tenacity to not give up on a play or back check. |

he's looking like a solid #2 center. Great surprise for me.
if kadri can continue to develop and take the #1 spot from bozak, i think the leafs are a d-man away from being considered serious cup contenders. |

Wasn't feeling well during the game. Leaf medical staff recommended he spend the night in hospital. He was ok the next day & released. Dunno what the illness is. |
