Michalek is a junk version of a good player. As for Ryan, I didn't notice him last night at all. Not a single play...anything. Im still not convinced he even played.

I think ryan is a bit overrated. He reminds me of jvr a bit, for a few reasons, no one really wets themselves over jvr. Ryan's a good player, but not elite imo

15 to 20 goals and protecting Kadri and Lupul is all we need from him.
- The Law

You should be fine there. It's just a matter of him not getting suspended again.

Michalek when healthy is very good winger. His 35 goals show that. His problem is that h'e never healthy.

And Ryan played last night, he's the one who get hit into the net and brought it down onto Bernier

- david22

He only hit 30 once. He is a 20 goal winger, and should NOT be on any good teams first line.

MacArthur looked good for the Sens. So did Turris! Great game over all! Next for the Leafs... The Avs!

For what he's paid I'd expect at least 20`

At the same time, I think he is much better than how he is playing. That contract is a bit much, though.

If he gets suspended protecting our players again, Im fine with that. Half the reason why we signed him.

In all honesty, I think it'll be a Sharks vs Leafs cup. Don't tell the Hawks fans I said that.

based on three games???

Im starting to wet myself over him. Guy has been a beast for us so far. He also has good hands and speed for a big guy.

Dion's out the door, simply because of math. We have a lot of contract issues coming up, and he'll be too expensive.
- AngryWhiteMale

That will be a big mistake. He is far and away our best defenseman. Hate him if you want, but without him, our defense resembles the Oilers.

It was a question, thus the question marks.

I still think he can hit 30 again if he were to stay healthy. But again, he never does stay healthy. Many of those 20 goal seasons came with missing decent chunks of time.

To be fair, it is based on 3 games. But, it is also based on how close you were to beating Boston last year and how well everybody is playing.

Looking forward to signing all those guys, this is who I see being moved out.

Reimer
Kulimen
Gunnarson
Gardiner

- faceto27

If it was later in the year I'd be more jacked into the Toronto - Anaheim rumors of a Dman coming down there.

Because it would make sense to me for them to like Gunnar at his cost, term and age. As well as for us to want to get something useful back, well - we'll have to give. I'd gladly take one of Anaheims young prospects if the deal was right.

This is a bit of a turn for me because I've been steadfast I don't think they will move Gunnar....but it we want to get better we have to move someone. I'm just hoping that someone isn't Gardiner.

Nah. 77, 78, 79 isn't missing chucks of time. It's missing 3-5 games. There were 2 seasons he played about 66 games in each, but even then he had 18 goals and 22. He wasn't on pace for 30. Last years 4 goals in 23 games put him nowhere near 30 goals. He would have been lucky to hit 15, let alone 20.

I check stats, you're not going to sneak anything past me. He is a soft, one dimensional player, who can't stay healthy. Like I said, a junk version of a good player.

Yes, but you'd like that contract to be producing goals as well, not sitting out.

Of course, no doubt about that. But you can at least respect a guy having to sit out because the teams best player was being challenged by the opposing teams goon.

Dion was very good last night....a couple of great plays in the final minute of regulation to secure at least a point.

Hm, you seem to be right about this one. I guess we'll see what the season holds, and i'll remain hopeful he can pull out a full season. He's at an age where he could pull out a good one.

He might, but it's not likely.
