That never unfolds like that.

So you're saying shot totals don't matter? Finally you're getting it...

I have no idea what he meant there; neither did Elliott.

Team A = 40 shots from the perimeter
Team B = 20 shots from the slot

Does this mean Team A is twice as likely to win the game?

- The Shrike

Team A would win if Devan Dubnyk was in goal for team B...

it's actually a lot closer to reality than you seem to care to acknowledge.

The average shot distance for goals around the league last year only differed by 2.5 ft from lowest to highest for the whole league.

This was a good blog post by Yost on it.

Check out the staredown Healy gives Elliot and the weird insult at the end of the clip.

Having volume trouble on my laptop, but I saved it, looking forward to seeing it.

Those stats put a shot from Colton Orr on the same level as a shot from Kessel. You probably don't see any flaws in this, so of course you feel shot totals are the be all and end all.

Corsi would say the Krutov - Larionov - Makarov line was weak in terms of possession.

Would you say that's an accurate evaluation, based on what we know about their game?

You're missing the point. They won the shootout by scoring more goals in the shootout, which the league counts and awards an extra point for.

You don't need to count it, like it, watch it or believe in it. You still have to outscore your opponent in a shootout to win. You don't actually win it by getting more shots on net, despite it's name.

Really? You think I needed that explained to me? Lol

In this case I feel it's probably safe to say that corsi is right in saying Chicago probably should have won. They're light years ahead of Tampa skill-wise.

In all honesty, I think it'll be a Sharks vs Leafs cup. Don't tell the Hawks fans I said that.

Pack it in folks, no need to even play the rest of the games. Leafs have already won the cup.

In defensive talent, definitely. Tampa are no slouches in the offensive zone, they're almost like the Leafs in that end. The difference is that we had good goaltending last year, and TBL did not...

It sure wasn't the 5 on 5 cup! Or the shot cup! Or the possesion cup!

I think the only proper thing to do is to actually get "candy striper" or "hospital candy striper" to catch on and bust it out daily.

Now this (frank)ed up. All summer the Red Wings were given the pass card to make it to final because the East was so weak compared to the West. What the (frank) is gonna happen now?
