It's funny how other fan bases see a player. Some Avs fan came here saying Kobasew was garbage. He's proving to be a very good complimentary player to Sutter (the best I've seen playing with #16)

I didn't see him at all in Colorado last year, but maybe he was... bad team, playing a 4th line role/healthy scratch, etc.... Maybe realizing that he was almost out of the league and playing a better role on a better team motivated him more... who knows...

Near perfect 20 minutes there. So much good going on. Maata, Kobesew and MAF all looking great. About the only minute things I can find negative are the first PP unit's zone entries and Glass looks to be back to the Glass we all loathe...Geno handed him 2 goals on that one shift.

I really thought we would miss Cooke terribly, but what can I say...#12 has been incredible so far. While he won't PK like Cooke did, it looks like he will provide at least as much scoring and hitting while relieving us of the nightly "2 minutes for being Matt Cooke" calls.

MAF seems to be a lot less "active". That's a good thing.

According to Errey, Scuderi was talking to Bortuzzo for a while after that last PK shift... Scuds could really be great at helping Bortuzzo turn into a solid shutdown NHL defensemen.

I know it's early. I know the Bylsma history is totally opposite of what I'm thinking...but I have hope Shero will shut him down. The way he's playing so far Maatta cannot be sent back to London.

He's doing things that rookies don't do. I know you all see it. He's been just about ready for this since he was drafted. If they're keeping Despres down he has to stay. Probably should stay anyway.

The kid is pretty athletic. Reminds me of Letang when he firts got in Pittsburgh (just a bit. Maatta seems to be a lot more savvy)

So..not good to contend for anything yet. I do think they'll deal Vanek and Miller for sure. They'll have to find takers for Stafford though.
