can't see the game from where I am ... but just checked the score and I'm surprised it's only 1 zip.

from reading these posts I thought it was 5 zip.

Meanwhile, Emery has the puck pinned against the post, and in the 4 seconds they waited to blow the play dead, 3 Habs crashed into him.

Enough is enough.

This is what is meant by typical montreal.

Most expensive defense in the NHL. How anybody could defend that is beyond me.

Really ready for Holmgren to be let go.

I defended the guy on one play; now you're indicting the entire defense -- all I said was the puck was bouncing on the goal -- which it was.

Have to get used to it on here. One subpar period and this guy stinks, the defense is paid too much, blah, blah, blah!

How about calling out the Captain and the first line, who are losing the heads up battle in that period to the Gionta line? The Flyers have one line going, and that's the Lecavalier line. But let's blame the defense and claim it's overpaid. It's one period.

They've looked out of sync, had a bad defensive breakdown on the goal and haven't generated much in terms of second chances.

Not so much as too many PPs against -- they haven't really been able to do a whole lot after the first few minutes.

They didn't look awful; just haven't scored yet. Montreal's faster, but we already knew that.

It was bouncing for sure.

I'll stop because it will get repetative, but the time for change in management has come. Since the new nhl this team has continously:

-gotten high on its players, only to learn they may not be as good as hot streaks indicate.
-chronically overpay for players: wonderful example this season. Most expensive NHL defense? Really?
-have to throw players away for trash due to poor cap management

I could go on and on. We have blamed Hitch, Stevens, and now Lava. Have blamed player after player.

Maybe its time to look at management who puts together this poop year after year. Or lets wash, rinse and repeat.

Flyers can take advantage when they get the puck deep in the offensive zone. Work the cycle game, and get some pucks the net. Most important is stay out of the box.

So apparently the World is ending after one period in Montreal and the GM needs to go! Brutal overreaction.

They've been worse, but I thought they had good pace.

Few solid shifts in the Habs zone too.

Should be 1-1. Whistle was blown right when Streit's slapshot from the point hit Price in the shoulder only to bounce right onto Read's stick. Never covered at all.

There were 5 penalties in the period. 3 for MTL. One of them I believe resulted in a goal. A Hab was just about where the trapezoid hits the goal line on Emery's left, centered it, and Streit who was in front tried to knock it away but fumbled with the puck a little. It was desperation as he lost a step on his man crashing hard to the net anyway. Razor with no chance.

lack of communication and poor positioning between Schenn and Streit led to the goal

Holmgren should not be fired. I don't know why this is the new flavor of the month.

There's no way Schenn should have had to come all the way off the wall to the other side of the net, with no other coverage. Defenseman should switch sides there.

My favorite is chronically overpaying players without any thought to comparable's or the NHL Salary structure and market.

I don't know where Schenn was, but Streit was where he should've been -- back post.

Gionta scored on a fly-by after the puck trickled through Streit, bounced over his stick-- Gionta was heading toward the end boards. It wasn't like Gionta posted up Streit, like John LeClair.
