I don't have any idea whatsoever at this point about Torts being more likely to see Schroeder as an option on the 2nd line compared to AV. I just dont know enough about Torts yet. It sucks Schroeder wasnt available for Torts to try him on different lines. Thats really going to (frank) with his role options when jumping in a month into the season. He cant be sent down. He works out or gets traded this season. This is his make or break season as a Canuck. At least he doesnt have AV at this critical moment in his career.... hoping the best for him...and the team.

Who is going to be 2nd line center? Your not suggesting torts would give Cody top 6 min dispite his absolute refusal to play any sort of defense are you? Or is it AVs fault that he was benched and stuck on the 4th line late last season because Rolston was so sick of it?

A trade is needed. If Burrows isn't on the first line, trade him. Burrows is Hansen/Higgins, but can score. If he isn't in the top 6, with that cap hit, trade him. Or trade one of the four big name defensemen and put Corrado back in the lineup. Gotta shake it up and refresh the 2nd line with a proven finisher and someone with a bit more grit for the bottom 6 (never should have let Torres walk).

Maybe get Erat from Washington, they have a glut of forwards and was playing on the 4th line last night.

Erat for Burrows? Really? They offer practically the same offensively and burrows if far better in every other aspect. I'm all for trading anyone but to get a far worse player in return isn't the best idea.
