"Kicking Motion" - requires a swinging of the leg.

Do you watch hockey at all or just blog for the heck of it? You are allowed to "direct" the puck in with a skate, there is clearly no swinging motion here. And FYI I am not a Matt Cooke Supporter.

Well I'm sure everyone else from LA thiinks it wasn't a goal and everyone from Minnesota thinks it was but there is clearly no kicking motiong, judt directing the puck in with the skate. You are allowed to change the angle of the skate just not kick it. I've seen this goal with the same exact motion allowed hundreds of times.
