I thought offensively we played a pretty good game, defensively I didn't think we were that bad either. Ramo was just alright. I liked Monahan and Baertschi, thought they both played with jump.
Ben Street sure does get hit a lot doesn't he? Not little hits, like take him off his feet hits. Don't know how long he can take that for.
Galiardi's penalty killed us in the 3rd. I think special teams lost us this game.
I am not as disappointed at losing the lead as I am the shootout. Ramo obviously isn't good with dekes. And both Baertschi and Hudler took a shot instead of deking because that has worked so well in the past.
Overall, I don't think it was a bad game. In fact I was impressed with the ability to turn the puck over and get on the attack quickly.
Something to build on I guess.

Probably not but who knows. I think you give him the 9 games and then decide. Pretty hard to evaluate after 1 reg season game. |

Positives:
Good energy and jump from all 4 lines
Backchecking was pretty solid all night
Managed the puck fairly well for 2/3rds of the game
Baertchi showed some hustle and made a couple nice plays off the rush
Negatives:
Face-offs...I can't remember one key face-off they won in the 3rd period (Is Colborne any good at draws)
3rd pairing of SOB/Butler...they were pinned quite a bit in their own end
PP: Did they even get a shot off during that 5 - 3? They have to capitalize on those opportunities to win games (Cammy would have helped there)
GlenX didn't have a strong game IMHO |

Who do you cheer for donk? - whipper334
he'll say chicago, since you know, they won the cup last year....not getting involved i just hate ppl who don't cheer for their hometown. Like some people in who were born and raised in Toronto but are somehow die hard habs fans with no connection to the city. they just want attention for being different |

Well, I heard on the radio that Colborne is in tonight and Stajan is questionalbe. If Stajan is injured I think we might see Monohan all year long. |

I honestly think it would be better for Monahan to stay up with the Flames rather than play a 4th year in Ottawa.
I heard Stemper got hurt as well. |

I agree Whip. That Ottawa team is not very good and he will end up playing with sub-par talent (barring a trade of course). He's physically mature enough to play in the show, and will benefit by playing with better players here than dominating at a lower level. If the Flames are out of it by Xmas (quite possible), then loan him to the WJs. |

The leafs were so bad over the last 9 years they couldn't even tank properly. But a certain guy named Burkie turned us around very nicely. He was the perfect guy to come in for you. We were like you, had an abismal roster and burkie will fix it through trades. |

Colborne hasnt had a lot of NHL faceoff experiece, and somewhat struggled in the AHL (under 40% I beleive). He has apparenetly been working very hard on it, though. |

Monahan took a shot off the ankle this morning during pregame skate. Helped off the ice. Not sure of status right now. |
