got to remember he has not played in the nhl much It will take him 25 to 35 games to get used to the speed.

ugh don't remind me! what a bad trade Matt Carle, Ty Wishart and a 1st rounder used on andrej meszaros. Those morans I think had to trade boyle in order to afford signing vinny.

RileyB77, I think it was more Sustr, Korobov, Cote, Nesterov and Sergeev that SY didn't pick Jones. If they were that high on Barbario they would have signed him to more than one year. He was a stud in the AHL, but they have guys with a higher potential than him IMO. To invest as much in him as they did without giving him an NHL good look would be silly. I still think his game can translate to the NHL. He hasn't caught up to the speed in this league yet. 3 games is not enough, in the mean time we'll get some rookie mistakes before we get the powerplay specialist he may turn out to be. To early to give up on him, hopefully he can eliminate the giveaways.

I can agree with youon that,but don't take my word for it , it was steve Y who said it to the publicthat they felt comfortable passing on jones because of barberios potential

however I absoloutely agree he is not our only potential filled prospect on D and all of them together had a lot to do with it

Dan Boyle was trade for Matt Carle, Ty Wishart, 1st round pick.

Matt Carle was traded to Philadelphia for Steve Downie, who was traded to Colorado for Kyle Quincey, who was traded to Detroit for a 1st Round Pick, where Tampa selected Vasilevski.

Ty Wishart was traded for Roloson, who gave us a hell of a run.

The 1st Round Pick we acquired from San Jose (Kyle Palmieri) was traded to Ottawa for Meszaros, who Tampa traded to Philadelphia for a 2nd round pick, that pick was used to trade for Lindback.

The results from the Boyle trade are still in effect for us!
