The rule is too muddy.
Just limit fights. Determining who the "aggressor" is leaves too much grey area. - The-O-G
The aggressor is easy to determine. It's the guy who keeps throwing punches after a fight is clearly over. |

It really is just too much. Parros whacking his head on the ice was a freak accident. It happens very rarely. Many more injuries are caused every year from body contact and getting hit with the puck. I get why beer leagues and youth leagues don't permit it, and so they shouldn't, but these guys are professionals, they get paid handsomely for what they do. Professional hockey without fighting isn't .. hockey. It's a watered down sissy sport that will just cater to the guys who would rather use their stick rather than their fists.

Last night, Lupul crushed Giroux, Schenn punched him in the face, Lupul didn't touch Giroux again. |

The fighting can stay but if they want to clean this game up they should put all of their efforts into taking out childish head hunting plays. For example kassian vs gagner. When a players sole purpose on the ice is to go out and try to inflict pain on someone who is better at the game than them, it turns the game into a petty prison rules game instead of a professional hockey game. So far every game i have watched this year you see players who have no interest in making a play or trying to score, hell, some guys dont even look at the puck they just stare at the player they want to hurt and wait for their chance to take their head off. (ie- Trouba on Hall last game) Sure the hit would have been clean and within rules but why try to kill a guy when you can make a smarter hockey play, stand him up and take the puck away. These kids coming up now are more about making a name for themselves by beating the sh!t out of people rather than trying to score goals, you know, the objective of the game. Trouba will be a monster for winnipeg but there is no need to be a dirty player if you are good at what you do. |

How often do you see that call made though? Are the refs not calling it because they don't want guys to end up having it on there record and then end up getting suspended? Or why not change the rule to include players getting an instigator penalty can get the same suspension as an aggressor? |

Fighting shouldn't be banned, but there shouldn't be designated fighters. I don't see the point of Mike Browns and Luke Gazdics. They're not exactly protecting a star if they're only capable of playing 5 minutes a night and are never on the ice when a top 6 player gets creamed.
I do think fighting is necessary when someone hits a guy unnecessarily hard, or goes after a smaller player. I think guys like Smid and Joensuu can stand up for guys like Eberle and RNH. By no means should EDM have 2 facepunchers without any talent on their 4th line |

Gazdic role isnt to fight only. You put them out there to put the puck in there zone and hold on to it hitting everything in sight and wearing the other team down until you can send in your scorers to clean up. Fighting actually prevents this from happening. |

H. H. Holmes...
It's believed that he was also Jack The Ripper.
I wonder if there's any strippers named "Jackie The Stripper"??? |

I thought that was pretty creative
Looks like Pekka Rinne is having an off game... I guess the Preds better trade him and pick up a true #1 goalie. |
