since the 70's - then you would know first hand your organization has been run by criminals forever, and they love to have a team full of goons.
Rinaldo is an absolute joke, he is not close to a quality nhl player, he is the same type of player as matt cooke but with less offensive skills.
hes a head hunter. sorry the truth hurts. - Neiler
You want to take another stab at this? I am hoping this post does not reflect one of your finer moments.
You may be jaded by the misguided opinions of those who could not figure out how a team could be successful and tough as nails in parallel. Remember the Bruins were just as intimidating and actually the only reason the flyers chose to alter their playing style in the early 70s was because the St Louis Blues and the Plager brothers came into the Spectrum and were taking runs at some of their smaller French players. Garry Unger and other blues ended up in the stands swinging their sticks which ended up getting them arrested.
Regardless, the 70s flyers had outstanding penalty killing, one of the best goalies ever (whose injury robbed them of a 3 rd cup in a row) a very underrated second line center and pure unadulterated heart instilled by now hall of famer, Fred Shero.
Your correct. Matt Cooke has better skills than Rinaldo. Thank you for your very random and contradictory analogy.

During the next game, watch two things when Kulemin is on. 1) How many scoring chances start because of his for-check and 2) How hard it is for players to take the puck off of him down low.
The guy doesn't rake in points but he sure as hell can wreak havoc on a team in their own end. - markmark
Thats why i think he is a good piece we have that the pens would want. And itd be only fair if we got a main piece back like a derrick pouliot even if we added a bit to the trade. Wed be loading up on our defense for sure, imagine rielly, gardiner, and pouliot down the road |

Have to disagree with you, but im pretty sure a lot of teams have inquired about Kulemin. He brings a lot to the table and he brings it every night. Plus he has shown the ability to score even it was only 1 year. |

So the Ducks are looking for a defenceman... Me thinks they're inquiring abour re-acquiring Gardiner (from insider trading). Not suggesting that we trade him, but if it came to that I would ask for Stefan Noesen or Devante Smith-Pelley plus a 2/3rd rounder in return. At this time we don't seem like likely trading partners. - steve362
Terrible return may as well keep him. |

Why would you want to trade gardiner away for. Anything that involves franson, gardiner or rielly is our future. Just trade gunner away (frank) - Mapleleafs_91
Gunnar has been great IMO, he is playing much better than Gardiner, warrents less money after Gardiner's RFA is up and is only 3 years older. |

I would pass on either of those 2 for Gardiner.
(frank)..we really need a Center prospect with top 6 potential

Okay so instead of colborne and liles. Now its ashton and liles - Mapleleafs_91
No comparison.
Once we traded Colborne, I realized he was nothing but a plug.
Ashton is the real deal.
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
On a serious note, yes I'll admit that I was the guy advocating for keeping Colborne. A 6'5" centre is something the Leafs could surely use. But wow, did the guy not impress in the pre-season. I was at the Buffalo game, and I was specifically watching him to see if he could do anything to justify my blind faith in him.
Sadly, he didn't. Plenty of giveaways in our end. Nothing offensively.
2 games in, and I'm loving Bolland, so I'm not regretting giving up on Colborne.
But I am troubled by the re-emergence of the Leafs' pattern of giving up on prospects. Frattin gone. Colborne gone.
Yes, I'm happy with the Bernier trade. But we really need to start proving we can develop our own prospects (yeah, I know, Colborne wasn't drafted by us, but you get the idea). |

Completely agree and I think Kulemin is going I put up decent points this year. He is a difficult resign though. Someone will pay him Hign 3s or 4 M. Can the leafs afford to though? Tight spot. mcclement is an under rated guy too only making 1.5 M. He would be my next contract for Nonis to take care of. Ahead of Dion for sure.
What is Jay worth though? |

Frattin isnt really a prospect IMO hes what 25 or 26 Bernier is 25 too, so what 2 guys have been moved, There are guys we have developed in the lineup, Gunner, Reimer, Kuli, Bozak, KADRI, and soon Reily |

I'll get you for this!
A couple of years ago I took my daughter to a skating skills place. The kid running the skating treadmill had helped out with the fitness testing for the Leafs' training camp.
He said that for pretty much every strength and condintioning test, Kulemin blew everyone else away. The guy was a freak of nature (figuratively). |

That's why I don't understand caring about what Grabo does on Washington... He plays with the great 8 for crying out loud!? Of course he'll pot goals when you play with Backstrom and Ovi on the PP...
Kule would do the same paired with Malkin. Point of the argument is without a superstar, Grabo brings very little to the table compared to Kule... |
