Except they gave up shots in the first period at a 150% greater rate than last year's average. This was nothing like the way they played defensively last year. Nor for that matter much puck control or getting pucks in deep and playing their board game.

Obviously you want a better defensive play but that was a terrible rebound by a goalie who does not normally do that. He directed it into the middle of the slot, exactly where you're not supposed to direct a rebound.

Larsson looked bad but so did everyone else.

It was just a period of bad plays by a number of guys. Singling out Larsson is beyond belief. Even worse that a Devil fan appears to not want the guy to succeed just to be able to say "I told you so".
