The Stajan line will matchup against the other teams top line but really they will be rolling the 3 lines. I think people who don't watch this team with be suprised with Glencross-Stajan-Stempniak...was the flames best line most nights last season

I could see some rough outings for the pair of Russell-Wideman
not overly physical players . will have to rely on their puck moving and skating skills to keep them out of trouble.

Not sure why people are worried about the Flames doing too well and not getting a top pick. If the team does that well it means the Ramo is awesome and the young guys are playing great. That is far better than one player that might pan out down the road.

If Ramo somehow carries this team to 9th or 10th your right....we might have another Kipper on our hands (that's how good he would have to be).

exactly, its a sad state for the NHL when people are cheering for their teams to lose in game one

Im with you 110 percent. And I really hope they do well this year. I refuse to spend 7 mos obsessing on draft position. That's the Oils mo. Who wants to be like their fans?
5 3 Flames....the start of a shocking season.

Well... that's pretty much what we're expecting this year. Good effort, shaky results.

If they can learn from this they will be fine .... From the drop of the puck til it was 4-1 they dominated ... Stopped playing their game and tried to sit back and defend far too early ... Then from 4-4 on it was all flames again... Ramo was alright ...but wasn't that impressed

He needs to work on his side to side. Biggest adjustment on the small ice is how quickly the puck can move from wing to wing.

Calgary dominated the end of the game and the OT...good bounce back after blowing the lead. The shootout has nothing to do with hockey so not gonna comment there win or lose.

Really, sucks to blow the lead but good effort...they aren't the team some think they are

I hate when teams get a lead and stop playing the way they were and try to protect .... Every team does it and it never works .... If you get a lead in the third I can see it but not half way to go in the game against the caps ... The flames will be the amoung the most exciting teams to watch due to the fact that they can score and will most likely have issues keeping the puck out

I actually thought Ramo looked pretty good for his first game in a long time.

Both Ovechkin goals were deflected and he didn't really have a chance on either of them. That scramble goal by Green could have maybe been stopped but it was a broken play and he couldn't see the puck.

Anyway's, I don't want to make a bunch of excuses, but I thought he looked decent.
