Just googled it. That thing looks awesome. It seems to be around $200. Not too bad.
- PLindbergh31

Not too bad, just can't spend it now. The old one works great, we have a metric ton of K-Cups and all the back to school activities all want registration money...plus I had to drop $1700 into the car for all sort of electrical crap.

I'm probably going to get it for her for Christmas

If the coffee is good, I agree black is the way to go.

I just can't get behind these things. I make coffee in a coffee maker instead of individually wrapped coffee packets wrapped in its individual filter paper in its individually-wrapped plastic packet. Give me a can/bag of coffee and a coffee maker.
- jmatchett383

No paper in this little device. It's a mesh filter inside a hard plastic do-hickey. I keep a twelve cup maker plugged in as well, though.

I hear you. $200 for a coffee maker is kinda steep.

The trouble there is we'd make a pot of coffee in the morning and either run out and have to make a new pot, or end up leaving a half full pot sitting there all day and going to waste.

This way, we can make the exact amount we want, no fuss and no muss.

Maybe if we could hire Juan Valdez to hang out in our kitchen...

Because I disagree with the moves they have made lately. I'm not a fan who just sits there and ho hums and says everything they do is great, and I do look at things objectively.

I feel the last week of camp they've made some really questionable moves that have me wondering what's next. Like if they struggle and go 5-10 to start the year.
Do they make a panic trade? Do they fire the coach.

Little moves like these that defy logic are often precursors of bigger, questionable moves.

- Jsaquella

The end result is Hall is on the team and in the lineup. And Laughton was returned to Juniors. Two moves that you advocated for in the past. You also talked about issues with the Coach in the past.

Lavys decision to play Schenn on the top line is just absolutely baffling given Jake's season last year.

Homer talks about the Laughton situation...

Best part is Homer asking Seravalli if it makes sense. If he's asking Frank, I guess you do have to question his judgement.

He also doesn't play the PP and we had 7 of them.

Voracek is obviously not 100%, and that's the likely reason why. He was moved up to the top line in points of the game. Expect Voracek to be a regular next to Giroux.

It'll be interesting to see if Laviolette agrees with Holmgren that Newbury is a guy that can step up and play 3rd line. His AHL numbers say he should be able to produce something at the NHL level.

Based on his history, he's got to be careful about undisciplined penalties, though.

Yep. Seems kind of odd you feel it only applies when people agree with you, otherwise, we get the , "Oh it's no big deal, they know what they're doing" brush off.

And this will be my last comment on the matter to you. You trust them, feel they know what they're doing, swell. I think they've made a few questionable decisions the last couple weeks, and while they haven't had to pay for them, it doesn't excuse it.

I was just thinking about it, and wouldn't it make sense to have a rule allowing the coach to opt out of taking a penalty shot in favor of just taking the power play? Sure, if Giroux gets a penalty shot, you're going to just let him take it; but if your team's power play is really hot, and Jay Rosehill miraculously earns a penalty shot, wouldn't it have more benefit to just give the PP more time?

Except that entire pot of coffee costs far less than making two cups with those newfangled hockey puck systems.

And he's right, Jsaq - you need to get laid.

I agree with your views on hockey, but it's still good advice.

Quick question: is Parros' concussion getting any press in Philly? Does anyone care (calls to ban fighting) or is it business as usual?

Or at the end of a game and you are up by one goal, it would be better to kill out the final two minutes with a man advantage.

IMO 2 changes I would make are:

On penality shots. If you miss the penality shot, then you still get the PP.

Second, If a penality occurs at the end of the period, the team can decide whether to take the full time at the end of the period, to be subtracted from time in the 3rd period, or to end the period and take the full PP at the begining of the next period with the extra time added on. I hate when PP's get cut in half.... Please no John Bobbit jokes....

The Flyers barely get press in Philly. George Parros and his concussion doesn't even exist.

This is why I listen to the fan 590.

Right now they are talking about short goalies. You aren't getting that any day in Philly.

We have a few people whining about "Goons" playing, but not about taking out fighting.
