If you a saw a swarm of these giants hornets approaching you, and there was no shelter in sight, what would you do?

Not to interrupt the bee talk or rehash anything, but the Flyers handling of the Laughton/Hall situation is really moronic.

There was no need to waive Hall and keep Laughton to maximize the LTIR exemption of Pronger, because Laughton's cap hit is actually higher than Hall's.

So basically, the Flyers risked a solid 4th liner, good face off man and penalty killer in order to have Scott Laughton wear a nice suit and get introduced to the crowd before last night's Leafs-Flyers game.

- Jsaquella

And in the end it didn't matter either way because he didn't get claimed. Save the vitriol. You'll need it later when it counts.

It was a nice suit though

I don't really get it either unless they are working on a trade for a forward

Yeah, like when they end up JvRing Brayden Schenn.

The only thing that makes an ounce of sense is calling up Newbury, rather than a kid like Raffl or McGinn to sit in the press box on nights where the other team doesn't dress a playmate for Rosey

I disagree. Laughton was dressed as if he was going to the Regal Beagle after the game.

It didn't, so I don't know what all fuss is about. I trust that the Flyers know what they're doing, and they have reasons for handling the roster as they did. Things are not always evident, and we don't always have all the information as to why something is done.

Generally, I agree with their moves. However, they have made enough moves that make me question them that, at times, I simply have to say that they made a dumb move.

In the end, they didn't lose anybody, but here's something that did happen:

Scott Laughton didn't play in a game and he was with the Flyers for 4 games that his junior team played. He still has to serve a 3 game suspension in the OHL, which means that he won't see game action for at least another week.

That's really poor handling of a guy who is purported to be the team's top prospect. Regardless of whatever reason you can think of or whatever rational you can give, it made no sense to keep Laughton up for an extra 4 days only to send him back down.
