I never actually realized how much Toronto fans hate Roy, rotfl.

Almost every negative comment is from a Toronto fan or a team who hates Montreal lolz.

As an Avs fan, I'll echo the rest. From Sacco to Roy, we deserve this type of emotion from our coach and players as compared to what we've had to watch over the last 4 years.

It's one game, but this team is going to be fun to watch all year at the very least. Good or bad, there are going to be some Avs players that end up as Fantasy steals.

Landeskog, Downie, McGinn, Bordeleau, and McLeod are going to bring the pain every night with Roy stoking that fire. Every line has a human wrecking ball on it, and the fourth line has two.

Colorado will be a lot more physical than most people expected.

This is entertaining once, but if he keeps it up he'll just become a laughing stock.

Roy is still a beast! Awesome game 1 and can't wait to see this sh1t all season.

Maybe the glass was a setup by Patrick to get the excitement around the team up a little bit? Not sure, but it worked.

I didn't see the game so my question is why did this happen? Must have been a cheap shot somewhere?

Patrick Roy: “We want to surprise the world of hockey … It starts tonight”

They most certainly did.

For the first time in his life, Bruce Boudreau knows what it feels like to be a donut within 25 feet of him.

Roy trying to beat down that door and then maybe get his son to go beat Boudreau up. Loser.

Actually, he's a winner. A 4-time winner. Of the Stanley Cup. I know it's been a while for you guys, but it's a very big thing.

What? What does him being a complete knob have to do with anything. He could win every game and 16 in a row in the playoffs and he'd still be a complete (frank)ing moron

Someone has to step up to it eh? Our Redwings wont. I commend Roy for sticking up for his players. I would have done the same thing. Also I wouldn't squirt someone with water that already was ticked. Not smart. Boudreau needs to teach Perry and Co. some discipline.
- Kalimaze

Red Wings taught them by taking advantage of it and knocking them out of the playoffs. I'm sure pushing the glass over will be much more effective than that though...

I think this was the straw that broke the camels back at least:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_h5sUJQVpE

In most articles I read they describe it as a trip, but watching the video it's a pretty dirty knee on knee hit.

If the guy receiving it got hurt Lovejoy would get suspended 3 or 4 games since the NHL primarily gives out suspensions based on injuries and not bad plays. So he probably won't get anything because nobody got hurt.

Still, flipping out and attacking the glass isn't going to do anything. Roy should know better, it didn't work for his buddy Marc Crawford either.

I think that's the one where Scotty said to Crawford:

“I knew your father before you did, and I don't think he'd be too proud of what you're doing right now.”

And wound him up even more.

Wow. Colorado was fun to watch BEFORE this. All the different goal scorers, MacKinnon looks amazing out there. Lovejoy's little knee-on-knee hit was a douche move. I think that's what caused this to all boil over. Varly looked solid, sucks he lost the SO with 4 seconds to go.

Someone said it best.. if Colorado can harness all that energy.. watch.. the frank.. out.

You forgot the fight he won with his wife and the fight his son won beating up the other teams goalie in a premeditated attack that he initiated.

Junior league move by a junior league coach. His act is already wearing thin. I wonder how long before he sends his son out to beat up the other goalie.

i like Roy's fire just don't turn into a forest fire and get out of control cause there will be huge consequences to Avs and the NHL image if escalates it to old time eye for an eye hockey!

First blowout of the season for Roy. On the scoreboard and the bench.

More to come....
