I was agreeing about stats, we get outshot but there are tons of perimeter shots from weak angles is all I meant.

The problem is that the people who "believe" in this stuff are zealots about it, as if they discovered the Holy Grail.

It is EXACTLY like religion to these people. You can't argue with it. Every success that flies in the face of their stats is an unsustainable fluke. Every moment of failure that follows the stats is irrefutable evidence that they are true.

Bottom line, if there was stats like that, that were even remotely consistent, a lot of people would make a lot of easy money betting.

- Aetherial

Stats can enhance your understanding of the game but shouldn't be the basis for your understanding. Yost is in the second group.

Yeah you gotta go with Reimer.

Ottawa is a good team though. I don't buy into *all* the hype, but I do think they are top 4 in the east.

They have a good coach who has them all buying into the system and they have solid goaltending.

Funniest tweet that I caught last night when Flyers pulled Mason...

@NonAmericanHero: Flyers get their much needed goaltending upgrade with 1:28 left in the game

yeah, a little odd.

Nepotism aside, the kid has looked like he genuinely deserved a 4th line role.

Reimer - keep alternating till a number one emerges. Both have played well - thought Knuckles was better - but still way too early to choose one.

BTW - Sens come into ACC on a back-to-back on Saturday. Only Buffalo but I don't remember that a lot last year.

Agreed. Like what I've seen from him in these 2 games so far. Had a couple really strong shifts each game, and the others were safe and steady shifts. Simple easy plays, not getting into trouble.

I think I saw some zone starts and bodie hadn't started single defensive zone yet.

Meh he's just a filler. He skates faster than the goons though which is nice.

I liked that he seems to have some decent speed and has not been shy about driving the net.

That's what I'm talking about - two nights, two road games, two wins ... were outplayed early but hung in there with great goaltending !

Reimer is like 8-1 with a 1.something gaa against the sens. I think you go back to Reimer. Both have played well. They're going to be battling all year, trying to one up the other.

I know, that's the point though. He's filler. He can play a safe game for 6-10mins.
