Amazing game. They started so badly but inched their way back. Great shut down work by the end and fabulous work by Bernier.

So do we.

We'll miss Frattin, be good to him.

- BetterCallSaul

Frattin seems to be the piece that management has wanted for some time (him specifically). He will get every opportunity to fill out the 2nd line with Richards and Carter. He's no Penner though.

Fans in the Sabres thread are reacting like they thought the Sabres actually could beat the Wings.
- systemtool

There's a Sabre's thread? Who'da thunk?

Well there's an old saying that good teams find a way to win games they didn't deserve to win.

Part of that is goaltending.

The other part is key offence. Kessel getting that goal was absolutely curcial.

Having Bolland come in and finish the job was a nice touch. Defence, aside from Franson on certain occasions, was awful.

Twitter reactions on the possible Fraser injury are funny. One guy says the leafs cannot recall liles becuase he makes too much money.

Franson broke up a lot of plays. I thought he was fine. Ranger is going to need some time to get back to NHL form.

From what i have seen of him this season, he is moving really well. Injuries slowed him down the last couple of season.

Disagree. I thought Gunnar and Dion were pretty good. Ranger got better as the game wore on.

Spoiled two home openers.

Who do the Leafs got in their home opener?

Isn't that correct, though? They can't recall Liles, because he does make too much money.

Dion was his usual slow self. Turmovers were a real problem for the whole team.

Can't say Gunnarsson caught my attention much, which usually means he's doing his job.

That is what he was affectionately known as here. Loves to get under guy's skin. especially the Sedins. Sneaky as all hell.
