Roy has always been a jack@ss but his legacy, as a player, will always supercede his obvious malfunction in his personality. - MidnightMarauder
I was at that game at the GARDEN WHEN Roy skated with the puck past center ice for reasons I'm still not sure. It was funny though...gotta find that one.

Its clear this is why Hank is relaxed and wants nothing to do with talking about it in fact, why does there even have to be negotiating, he either gets the max for 8 here or for 7 elsewhere. Maybe Slats is hoping for a hometown discount (b/c of salary cap implications, etc) no chance, and Meehan will be the one using the term leverage 9000 times... - Blueshirts4ever
Yep. Call me when you got a deal boys. |

I love Hank but if they trade him and get 3 or 4 really good players for him. I wouldn't be devastated. On the flip side, if they keep him and buyout Richards next summer and turn his cap hit into a few really good players then I would be on board for that as well. I prefer the latter scenario, of course.

no matter what they got, it would be a P.R. nightmare for the Rangers if they ever traded Lundqvist.
I really don't think it would ever come to that and he will sign long term eventually

I was there for that too; the Rangers beat them 4-1 or something like that. Had insane seats; two rows behind the glass.
As legendary as he is; I will always remember him more for several things:
-His Statue of Liberty glove save that blew up in his face, against Detroit, in the 2002 WCFs Game Six.
-Getting his ass beat by Mike Vernon in the notorious 1997 regular season game at the Joe Louis Arena.

Yes, i just realized that too. I was up in the blues like I usually was back then. Me & a bud would go to about 5-7 games a yr at that time. Now I'm lucky if I get to 1 a yr. |

That was a NASTY game. It was on the old Sunday night ESPN hockey game of the week. Featured the notorious McCarty beating on a turtling Claude Lemieux. Shanny had a mean go with Deadmarsh I think. That was a brutal rivalry at that time. |

As nice as the arena is now I have little interest in spending a ton of money to attend a game anymore.
I have only been there a handful of times in the last four or five seasons. I love this team but, especially recently, just have too many priorities that take precedence over attending a live hockey game. |

To this date, one of my favorite non-Rangers hockey games I have ever seen. Both teams were so talented, add in the serious hate factor, and you had a classic rivalry for several seasons. |

I'm terrified of this situation....At what point do you say "OMG he is gonan walk" and look to deal him? Or do you say no, we wait it out till the summer and work out a deal before July 1 even though we may lose him for NOTHING. I say the latter.. you have to hope and pray you can seal it. - mrhattrick27
He's not leaving NYC and the Isles aren't a consideration, everyone chillax! |

If he were to leave (Which I agree hes not) And if the Isles offered him 9-10 million a year (which they wont) Why wouldn't the Isles be considered? |

Haha, same here, I went to one game last season and it was in a corporate suite. Good game too, beat the Bolts 4-1. |

cuz he wants to go to a contender.
with all due respect, the isles have a very young team but a crappy blueline. yes you have some amazing prospects on defense, but they won't enter their primes and be good enough to win a cup for at least 4-5 years. hanks gonna go to a place where he can win within the first 2 years of his deal, if he leaves. |

Can't see him, in any other NHL jersey, except the Rangers. Just one of those things; no other city fits his personality like NY. Kings perhaps, if he ever were to test free agency, but they have a young elite goalie over there, so...
Needless to say, Hank looks like a Ranger for life. Sather is just not that stupid to let the backbone, of the organization, walk away. |

Most of these now contenders have goalies or have no cap space. With Hank, I think Isles can be contenders and very difficult for opposing teams. |

he'll make you guys better and obviously very difficult but he's not gonna wanna go into a situation where he's bailing out 6 Dmen between the ages of 19 and 23 for the last 3 years of his really prime years. |

Now you're talking, but avoid the big signing, smart signings, not the big fish that seems to come up short for us and I don't include Gaborik in that, he in my opinion really was the exception...

#MNWild announce 5-year contract extension for Jason Pominville. The population of Pominville just increased by several million.
Coming from the same owner that said the players make too much, after signing Parise and Suter to almost 200 million combined dollars. |
