So RC gets an Oilers jersey with Puckrant.com on the back... I left him a note on facebook saying he's making a mockery of the Oil with that jersey, and he quips back that the Oil made a mockery of the jersey last night...

That was a team effort loss. Duby should have had goals 1 and 5. Ference and Shultz should have been doing something during goal 4 (mostly Ference). Eakins gave Yak no ice time till the last period. He had the 3rd lowest on the team. I am sorry, when you have no chemistry you shake up the lines. Smyth can take draws, you move him to acrobellas spot and put Hall with Yak.

Hall was not passing because he didn't think he had anyone on his line. He looked ticked of all game. He kept trying to do it by himself until he got Yak out there. Hemsky showed up for one shift and faded again. Why that guy can't do more than one. Why do we have two fighters and neither beat Kane after he took liberties with Eberle, Hall and Smid. That's why teams have fighters.

Eakins lines were terrible. PP's with 4 forwards and Jesse and Smyth were two of them. Belov the only d? You use Petry and Schultz. They have the experience and are proven on the PP. Then you leave Smyth on the bench. Bad enough Gordon has to be there for the face off. You need to put one of our actual top 6 out there.

Plus MacT has to take some blame. Why are we against the cap with only 1 center who sucks? We have a goalie that we can't pull because our back up came at a bargain. We look to not finish which sucks because we gave up our second round pick for Perron and our youngest big guy. Our enforcer Brown was out there hitting guys and sliding off them like rain drops.

Jesse was the only bright spot last night.

Didn't you watch the replays? The pucks changed direction and caught him off guard at the last moment. Also doesn't help that the goalies are all wearing new pads.

You really need to get over your Mact hatred. Just exactly which team out there is not a cap team this year that has our talent? Any team that loses their top 2 centers is in for a tough time. Gordon had a great first game. He is looking much better than Horcoff for less salary. Our face offs were great all around.

Absolutely this was on Duby. And he and the coach said the same. Scheifle's and Trouba's for sure should have been saved. Frolik's was screened. No issue with that one. This should have been a 5-1 win for the oil. (If ARCO could bury a puck).

Faceoffs were a success as we had players actually fight for the (frank)ing puck even during a draw loss... that was a huge difference to last year... that and the new players we acquired have more speed and fight that the poop we dumped at season's end... further YAY we actually have secondary scoring... Hopefully Dubnyk eliminated his off game and doesnt squander future efforts of the team like game one otherwise we are fuct... - no excuses as this years defense is the best its been in years for this team...

The defense is still a question mark. There isn't anyone that has proven they can play over 21 or 22 minutes a night. Right now it's a bunch of second pairing guys with some potential
