Anyways, if you want to like my comment that his self-promotion on the literal back of the Oilers to show him he's being a 'tard, go to www.facebook.com/cloutierblogs and look for a sunrise icon with the name Etown Dre leaving a comment today.

Just calling it like I see it, both good and bad. I'm sorry if you would prefer that I paint a pretty portrait of sunshine and roses, patting the boys on the back for a nice effort despite losing after holding a two-goal lead.

Grow up and be a real fan. I love the Oilers and want them to win every game, but I'm not a blind cheerleader. This isn't the end of the world, it's only one game, but don't tell me to enjoy the fact that this non-playoff team just lost a very winnable game.

I disagree with about half of this.

A) Perron played with Eberle. Hardly a dud
B) Belov had a very good game
C) Eberle played fine. 1 assist and a 58% corsi.
D) Dubnyk had a bad game. Relax. He's far from the worst player on the ice. He'll make 30 saves next week and we'll be gaga over him again

Holy poop. Dubey comes off a great .920 season and nobody cares. He has a bad first game and he's already sh*t. Jesus, people!

That was a team effort loss. Duby should have had goals 1 and 5. Ference and Shultz should have been doing something during goal 4 (mostly Ference). Eakins gave Yak no ice time till the last period. He had the 3rd lowest on the team. I am sorry, when you have no chemistry you shake up the lines. Smyth can take draws, you move him to acrobellas spot and put Hall with Yak.

Hall was not passing because he didn't think he had anyone on his line. He looked ticked of all game. He kept trying to do it by himself until he got Yak out there. Hemsky showed up for one shift and faded again. Why that guy can't do more than one. Why do we have two fighters and neither beat Kane after he took liberties with Eberle, Hall and Smid. That's why teams have fighters.

Eakins lines were terrible. PP's with 4 forwards and Jesse and Smyth were two of them. Belov the only d? You use Petry and Schultz. They have the experience and are proven on the PP. Then you leave Smyth on the bench. Bad enough Gordon has to be there for the face off. You need to put one of our actual top 6 out there.

Plus MacT has to take some blame. Why are we against the cap with only 1 center who sucks? We have a goalie that we can't pull because our back up came at a bargain. We look to not finish which sucks because we gave up our second round pick for Perron and our youngest big guy. Our enforcer Brown was out there hitting guys and sliding off them like rain drops.

Jesse was the only bright spot last night.

Mind-boggling really.

That game last night was a tough pill to swallow. Home opener, on HNIC against an old Smythe division rival and they let up in the third and blow the lead. There is plenty of blame to go around on this one. These guys need to go full throttle for 60 minutes, not forty, not twenty and not the last 5 minutes just to make the score look respectable.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, too many times last years the Oilers didn't play a full sixty minutes and lost close games because of it. Let's hope that doesn't continue this season as I would love to have something to cheer for in March, April, May and even June.
