Gardiner is young with a HUGE upside, much greater than that of Schenn. They really need to give this kid a chance.

The Schenn trade is looking pretty damn good right about now. Schenn may be a decent stay at home D, but nothing to justify his draft position.

Schenn should have been drafted early in the 2nd round or 28 - 30th.
Gardiner needs to work on his defensive skills which according most on here...takes several years.
Let him complete one full year.

Flames have Stajan Backlund Monahan and Colborne isnt a 4th line guy. Only two practices so far, he'll play next game as the Flames give Monahan a closer look.

Backlund - still tough to say...he could be a solid 2nd line guy...has work to do
Monahan will be a top 6 guy with talent, no question
Stajan - first line all day (thats weird, that entire sentence is underlined in red from my IE auto corrector...)
Colborne - hoping to turn into a 3rd line defensive guy...

my honest opinion? He'll go back down....theres no way the Flames picked up Colborne to keep Monahan around...if they demote Colborne they lose him on waivers...and hes not a 4th line center.

Stajan has actually improved quite a bit...and thats saying something.
