i would think gelinas would be the first call up because i think he performed a little better than urbom and the fact that he's waiver exempt. i think urbom is in albany all year unless we lose a few defencemen to injury

I don't mind the zidlicky signing and the harrold signing because if someone has to sit as a 7th D i would much rather it be harrold then a young kid but I wish volchenkov would disappear somehow

I dont mind Harrold as the extra either but still would rather have Urbom as the 7th if Lou really wanted Zid back. No way a defense that has Zid, ATrain, and Sal makes it through the season healthy.

Either a deal just couldn't get done, or Lou/DeBoer want to work with known quantities with a team that has so many variables up front.

Just stinks that the first time the Devils have a surplus of serviceable D in the minors since the late 90s, that they throw him to the curb.

And Josefson>Gionta on the 4th line and it's not even close when you consider Josefson's upside. Unless Lou is taking the same approach as he did with Larsson the past few seasons and slowly working him into a full-time role this year. Inserting him and taking him out depending on the team/matchup etc

He's not that valuable. I like the guy too but we have a better option in Josefson. He's faster, better with the puck, and bigger. Gio is what he is and will never get better.

I really don't know. He had the best +/- of the three fourth liners last year... clutter on the top 9 shouldn't leak into the fourth line since the fourth line plays a very specialized role. JJ is a third liner anyway, not a fourth liner. I'm fine with CBGB not changing for the time being. I think Lou was counting on injuries happening and none really happened other than a few tweaks, but those are top 9 issues, to me.
