gonna take a minor miracle to get another one past Bernier tonight.

- FlyerGuy

I don't feel that way. I think they just need to hit the net when they get quality chances.

Tough Period. Hockey gods aren't on our side tonight

As evidenced by Kessel's goal...

How many times did that puck bounce around and still stay on a Leaf's stick?

Getting a little too pretty, and its obvious they are starting to get frustrated by Bernier.

I'm smelling a shootout.

Could be. I think the Flyers pot two this period for the win.

I'm not deflated at all by the Leafs goal -- turnovers happen, and Phil Kessel isn't getting $8 million per because he's going to miss those.

I think the Flyers' effort has been there. They keep playing like this, going to the net like they are, they're going to get another one. They just have to be careful with the puck and do their best to not let Toronto get it on a turnover, so they can get their transition game started.

True, but I'm still not sure WHY he is getting $8 million. Jus' sayin.

Because he is one of the top goal scorers in the entire League.

Hall is the only one having a bad game at the dot, uncharacteristically. What I like is how the faceoffs are spread around, and not just on Giroux.

Do you think Kessel is almost as good as Giroux? Because that's what his contract says

Since being traded to the Leafs, he's sixth in the NHL in goals, with Bozak as his center. His deal is a fair one, because if they didn't pony up, somebody was going to.

I know. In 5 years, if he is producing at the same rate, his deal will be a very good one.

He's not an $8 million a year player. Simply put he's not.

Personally? I think it depends on how much you value the kind of game Kessel plays. He's not physical and doesn't have net front presence, so I totally understand why some people don't like his game and wouldn't give him that kind of contract.

Me? I think Phil Kessel is a pure goal scorer. Pure. As in, "If it's on his stick, it's in a corner or under the bar." His offensive instincts and skill level are elite.

Guys like Phil Kessel...you give him the right kind of center, he'll get you 50 goals. He's that kind of scorer. So maybe, if you think he's going to get you 35-50 for, say, five or six of those seasons...maybe you do pay him that.
