Holtby left off last season letting in 5 and starts off the same way, Caps look about the same, Grabo is going to have a big season though |

I guess Adam Oates can't call out the refs again for not giving the Caps any powerplays |

|
forgot to do the fantasy lineup and ended up leaving eller who had 2 goals and an assist and bozak who had an assist on the bench |

They poop the bed at the end when they blew that gift of a five on three. |

Bozak actually had a goal. So that stings a little bit more. |

the HB SL one or yahoo? i'm down 4.05 to 4.75 in one of my yahoo ones and the yahoo hockeybuzz one with these guys (which is strictly points and not head to head) i have 11 points that count and 20.5 between eller and bozak on the bench.
btw do faceoff wins/losses count for anything? because that could inflate points by centers a looot. |

Watching Jets vs Oilers, exciting game. I think Winnipeg could be a real dark horse this year, as long as Pavelec plays well. A lot of talent there, Byfuglien lost like 30-40 lbs they said (wish Rangers could get him) Trouba looks awesome and Schiefele looks real good too as rookies. Team to watch. |

really don't like our opning night roster and line combinations.
i think when the dust settles and cally and hags are back and kreider proves he's ready for the spotlight we will see this combinations:
kreider-stepan-cally
pouliot-brassard-nash
hagelin-richards-miller/zucc
boyle-moore-dorsett
I think kreider can have a breakout season playing alongside our best center (maybe after the season best forward) and playing with callahan who wins a lot of pucks. i also think pouliot is gonna start playing like the player that got picked 4th overal once, he can be amazing alongside nash and brass. |

Watching the games on opening night, I'm more convinced than ever that goal scoring is going to be priority one in NHL this year. Goalie pads are smaller, more room to maneuver behind the net, speed, speed everywhere in NHL lineups, and yet the Rangers with two of their top six forwards out, send the only 25-30 goal potential winger to the minors. I know, he's tentative with the puck, and decision making, I get all that, but I think Kreider would help a lot more than he would hurt the club. The club should have just let him play or a month or so, I believe they made a mistake, it's not like anyone else filled the net during the preseason. |

Fasth Scored 17 goals in 40 something games playing against men. He is just as fast if not faster then Krieder and he works harder, and has quicker first step speed. I dunno, hard to argue for Krieder over him, who didn't score at all in the AHL level. |

fast is going to have a chance to prove himself, just think kreider needs to play instead of pyatt orso |

That's great, I hope he fills the net, but Krieder should be here, until he proves he shouldn't. Never have enough goal scorers. |

I dunno, Krieder needs to learn to be more physical. he will have a chance to get his sh#$ straight in the minors. If he cant get focused enough to dominate down there...... does he deserve a spot? I honestly would rather have asham on the team then him. Now Pyatt, that's a different story. |

all he needs is just one really good game to get going, if it's here or in the minors I don't care but when he gets going watch out |

In response to Pete:
Points Leader: Derek Stepan
Goals Leader: Rick Nash
Assist Leader: Derek Stepan
+/- Leader: Michael Del Zotto
Biggest Surprise: Derek Stepan
Biggest Disappointment: Derek Brassard
Rangers' Finishing Position: 3rd in Metropolitan/6th Seed
Most likely trade acquisition: Draft picks to clear out the brush.
Most likely substantial piece to be traded: Boyle
I write Stepan as a surprise as I think he takes the Giroux career path and does better than we all expect. |

Goals Leader: Rick Nash
Assist Leader: Derek Stepan
+/- Leader: Marc Staal
Biggest Surprise: Marc Staal stays healthy and puts up >40 points
Biggest Disappointment: Michael Del Zotto
Rangers' Finishing Position: 2nd in Metropolitan/4th Seed
Most likely trade acquisition: Scoring Winger, who knows who with the way Sather pulls guys out of no where
Most likely to be dangled as trade bait or traded: Michael Del Zotto/Brian Boyle
And just to note, I am a huge Del Zotto fan and hope I am wrong with that prediction |
