Maybe just getting up to game speed. He took some good hits too.
- Elbows15

True...he was off for a bit as a precaution.

I'd just like to see refs given some discretion regarding "intent" to delay. Sometimes it's obvious, sometimes it's an obvious unintentional mistake.
- ArlingtonRob

I agree, but I can see some people not trusting the refs enough not to screw it up. I wouldn't have called either one tonight

If you want to keep that BS call at least take away the delay of game if you shoot out the other side of the rink. Personally I would like to it gone.

82 + 16 or maybe 23 like last year

- philco28

I'd settle for 82 + 28.

Yes...early on I thought Hoss might be favoring something, but on the empty netter...he had the vintage stride going.

- philco28

But with Hossa ya never know...he could go on IR tomorrow.

Some interesting stats from tonight's game ...

Kruger - won 10 of 17 face-offs (58.8 SV%), which was the best of any 'Hawk. Though it would have been nice if he won them on the penalty kill late.

Hammer - 3 give-aways. Not acceptable.

Leddy - 3 hits. Nice to see him have some physicality. He only had three games last year where he had more than 2 hits in a game. If he improves in this category this could be a major stepping stone in his game and defense as a whole.

Exactly..that was my point. It all comes down to intent, and if a player is killing a penalty and hammers the puck 60 yards and over the glass down ice while clearing the zone...

...the "intent" was to clear the zone. Worst case just bring the draw back the other way as if it were an ice...not a 2 min. minor.

This isn't rocket science.

Yeah...with a stride like his and at his age...groin pulls are a constant threat. Announcers speculated that Crow might have been stalling at times during the game due to a possible injury problem, but he went obviously stayed in for the W.

Game one in the books with 2 points. They should be awake now.

Watch some film, hit the ice, and work out the kinks.

I sure hope that's the case...

...but his back has me, a likely Hossa himself, worried.

Fingers crossed.

And he had only three shots after the first period - played him much better after the first.

Those suck...i partied a little too hard a couple weeks back and had my world ROCKED by a double calf cramp attack at 7:30 in the morning. VERY TRAUMATIC while it lasted.

I was agreeing with you. Should have given it a THIS. These young guys don't have the hate for the Habs like us old-timers. hate em.

Those are bad. Even worse, gotten them on the inside of both thighs. It was all I could do to get moving.
