The quiet, remain in the background, behind closed doors has been so successful with the franchise as of late hasn't it? I think that the occasional call out is healthy and where warranted, necessary. I'm sure there has been more than a few behind closed doors chats already with Sven and thus the public statement. Peter Maher had mentioned he takes his game seriously and if so, hopefully he'll get the message... I just hope we all (and I think we do) realize he still needs to develop...

Absolutely....no way this is the first time Baertschi has heard this lately. This team is committed to working hard and the "whole is the greater than the sum of the parts" theory. And that includes everyone, even if your the next star of the team.

That being said, we are making a mountain out of a mole hill here. Let's see the kid play some games first.

It's just funny that he came out when he was hired roughly saying 'I'm not the GM, Feaster is the GM. I'm going to be in the background.' And now he's out there being his GM self before the season even starts, calling players out, being in the media, making Feaster back him up in public. It's also funny that he doesn't know what throwing someone under a bus is, because he said he wouldn't, and then did it a second later.

Nothing wrong with it, it just adds to the dysfunction that we all like to witness coming out of the Flames front office.

If you actually listened to the whole press conference you would realize this was not at all the case.

The whole "I'm not going to throw someone under the bus" routine was pretty funny, because really he did. But deep down I think if you asked Burke he would firmly believe in his mind that he didn't.

Burke does this. If it works fine. But Sven has definitely not lived up to his draft pedigree at this point.

But that said....Colbourne is no better than Sven....yet they just brought him and are giving him a chance. So why isn't he ripping Colbourne?

Feaster and Burke playing good cop/ bad cop .... Think they are blowing this out of proportion. If After 20 games he is a minus 10 with 6 points then you can start to worry

Establish the no bullpoop atmosphere, just like red wings and Ottawa, its the best method to get the best out of your squad. If you think Sven should play, then you're falling in the same mistakes Oilers did with a lot of their younger talent. Ex. An injury prone rookie that gets 6MM per year... ahhaah that was the joke of the summer

If RNH sucks this year, then we can talk. His extension does not come into effect until next season. So if he plays the same way he did in his rookie year, then his new contract will be a bargain.
