bernake has ruined savers, job growth still sucks, the slightest talk of taper can cause a global meltdown, any taper causes people to run away from housing

he's built up a house of cards and it's only a matter of time

you save you get killed by inflation
you put money in the market you'll get killed when wall st. has it's crack taken away from it

- 2Real

Inflation was low and has remained low. Meanwhile, the American deficit has grown steadily and the deficit has gotten smaller.

http://www.newyorker.com/...conomics-doesnt-work.html

the American economy, while hardly racing ahead, has fared considerably better than its British counterpart. Between 2010 and 2012, G.D.P. growth here has averaged about 2.1 per cent. For the U.K., the figure is 0.9 per cent. What may be more surprising—at least to those of you who have been listening to the deficit hawks—is that the United States, while sticking with Keynesian stimulus policies, has also managed to bring down the size of its deficit, relative to G.D.P., almost as rapidly as hairshirt Britain has.

Back in 2009, at the depths of the recession, both countries had double-digit deficits. Today, the U.S. deficit stands at about seven per cent of G.D.P., and the British deficit is about five per cent of G.D.P. But with the U.S. growing faster than the U.K,. the gap is set to close. Next year, according to the latest forecasts from the Congressional Budget Office and the O.B.R., the U.S. deficit will be considerably smaller than the U.K. deficit: four per cent of G.D.P. compared to six per cent.

The issue is they get paid too much and have too much security. The only way to fix it is to tear down the entire thing and start over fresh. There's no one in Congress or running for Congress who would propose a bill where their pay would be cut or cut-off.
- jmatchett383

Thomas Jefferson was right. The people need to revolt every once in a while!!

Our once great nation is an utter mess. We have the Democrats passing a health care that NONE of them bothered to read and we have Republicans who act like angry 5 year olds when they don't get their way. Pathetic! I have NEVER been happier to be an independent than I am now.

The lifetime politicians just don't want to face the truth: There is NO easy way out of the fiscal mess we are in. They need to do some painful things like:

Significantly raise the ages to be eligible for social security and medicare, these programs were NOT designed to support people for decades!

Reduce the size of the Federal workforce by at least 20%

Significantly cut foreign aid and defense spending. If a nation like South Korea wants 35,000 U.S. troops stationed there, then let them pay for it. If not, bring em home and use them for border security. Put a few thousand troops on the border with orders to shoot any intruders and watch how fast illegal immigration stops. And on that note, let the illegal immigrants who have been here for 5 years or more and have no criminal record apply for citizenship, whats done is done.

Of course the spineless career politicians and the lobbyists who dole out their slop will never go for any of these changes because NOTHING matters to any them except the next election.

Well, the important thing is that at least Congress gets paid. Sure, our military personnel risking their lives overseas aren't getting paid a dime, but the people who tell them whether they live or die are still getting paid rather handsomely as they go home to their cozy beds every night with zero to no personal incentive to get anything worked out.

Politics buzz.......

I hate politics..Both parties should have their asses kicked. They have polarised the masses in to two different extremes. Both have few pluses and a lot of minuses. Both parties work to undermine the other for political gain , and the ones hurt by that are the people.

Point being (frank) democrats, (frank) the republicans both only care about the power of their party and are oblivious to the going ons in the real world. I cant stand the sheeple that fight tooth and nail to stand up for these worthless bumholes.

they dont give a (frank) about anyone but themselves.

Rosehill for Senate. Yes we can!
- jmatchett383

Not yet.

We need Rosehill to win the Rocket Richard trophy first and lead us down Broad Street.

Then, and only then, should Rosehill be made available to save our government from ourselves.

My first gut reaction is that, when I think of players that make $8 million dollars a year, that he isn't in that tier, talent wise.

That's kind of my point. The only way that anyone (currently) gets to be a government official on a national scale is to be so engulfed in your party line that you care about nothing but your paycheck, staying in power by any means necessary, and when you're gonna bang the next intern when your wife's not looking.

The healthcare care act has nothing to do with the shutdown. It's a scared tactic by the republicans. Either way, both parties are at fault here and it goes back decades. When one party shoves their policies down the throat of the other party, this is what happens when the other party gains control. No compromise!!!
Life goes on...

Me too, but then I look at his stats and think, hmm maybe he is pretty close.

4 straight 30 goal seasons and 20 last season.

And only 26 years old.

I agree. But then again, he has been in the top-8 in scoring the last 2 years. But no, I don't think he's in that tier of players that deserve that much.

Switching back
this season will be a mix bag of pucks. I agree with someone that said their is a lot of talent on the team but they are not a team (nyet). I'm hoping they will find their "jam" and bring it together. We will find out soon enough tomorrow night.

As for the roster turnover = lack of "team"

I just can't believe Ziva is leaving....

BTW to all those government employees feeling the strain from the USA Lockout, I would like to say I feel for you. Rest asured that this is in the nation's best interest. The government still collects 50 million per day in tax money. They still print 70 million per day of money. Our congress is shutting down the government because on top of this they are asking for an additional 80 million per day. Its not sustainable.

When you can't pay your bills at home what do you do? Sure you go borrow money from the banks, from parents and friends. But at some point they are going to ask why you keep borrowing money when your buying the new iPhone, watching high def DVR, and eating out every day. Then they are going to cut you off, at least until you can show that you are trying to live within your means.... even if it means that your going to have to be a little less happy without your new iPhone, and watching the Flyers in standard def.
