I guess they like him better than Lauridsen or Gervais who cost nothing unless injuries or a trade happens. He didn't look all that great in the preseason.
- jstross

Gervais, yes. Lauridson is a different story. You don't want him traveling with the big club and not starting. That will be Gill's job.

He gets 9. The tenth game starts his ELC.
- mayorofangrytown

So 9 games every season?
For some reason I thought once they were used up that was it.

There was a lot of confusion, but it appears he can play 9 games this season and (presumably) 9 games next season without the ELC kicking in, if they wanted.

I sure hope Gill's 700K doesn't come back to haunt them later. Not sure he really helps the team.
- jstross

There's no way that it could. It is LTIR Cap space.

does bernier have a shut out yet? if not i guess we can be his first lol/
- PhillaBully

That's what I was thinking too.. Kessel scores 5, beats the crap out of Rosehill, and Bernier gets a shutout.

You can't do that!?!?!?

If you are a Flyers fan no Pen should be on your fantasy roster!

- ggunky

I guess I shouldn't have gotten Kunitz, either.

I agree to that, but I think it's an ok signing short term for depth. Also glad that Hall is back on the squad.

Forgot about him. Yes. Lavy will be fired by the start of the 3rd period.

Alright, seriously...this pessimism is really getting to me. This has nothing to do with any recent threads, but f that. This team has a solid group of forwards, a solid if not spectacular group of veteran defensemen, and 2 goalies who can and have, at times, played to All-Star levels. We have a coach who won a Stanley Cup and came to within 1 goal and 1 game of a second one. I love this team, and damned be anyone who wants them to lose just to fire the coach or GM. I hope this team wins the division and wins the Stanley Cup so I can see all of you at the parade who were crying about the forwards, the terrible defense, the lousy goalies, and the coach and GM who never did anything right. I'll be the guy who's cheering all season.

I always cheer for them, but when I'm too optimistic, I jinx them.. so JVR scores 10 goals tomorrow... HA.

Ah, that wasn't aimed at anyone here, necessarily.

I read something to that effect on Puck Daddy (a site I don't like, yet read anyway), and it made me roll my eyes.

What's this crap the Sabres are doing with their captains? Vanek wears the C for home games, Ott wears the C for away. That seems pretty dumb, to me.

Amen, sir. It's going to be a bumpy ride I expect, but I'm still holding onto hope here.
