You guys are due for a season opener win, I think. It won't surprise me if the Habs take tonight's game.
That being said your team sucks and I look forward to watching them lose tonight. |

Leafs cannot keep up their .920's save %, even though Reimer has done it twice now..... But Ottawa will be able to keep their .940's save% even though a derision has never been that high before and routinely has a down year following a high one.
The stats are awsome.

also the sens had one of the worst sh% in the NHL...that shouldt continue with some of thier better players in the lineup...for now
sens had a team .933 sv% ...i cant imagine that happens again though. So who knows.

IMO the two best cities for season openers - Toronto and Montreal. |

Do you think they were the most skilled? they were able to score at the highest rate in the NHL (sh%)
"Luck" to me is strange way to put it. - senstroll
Scoring goals is skillful.
Their criteria for luck is bizarre.... Sh% (skill), sv% (skill) and health (luck). The leafs were not the healthiest team last year so i don't know e where they get that from. |

and you're a fan of what team now?

The leafs are the luckiest team in the league. Apparently the leafs had no injuries last year (do it will balance out this year). Apparently if you shoot and score you're lucky. If you save the puck you're lucky.
This is such nonsense. It cannot even be taken strikes any longer. It's becoming a farce. They have managed to say that the leafs scored a lot of goals due to luck and their shooting % will go down and they made a lot if lucky saves.
Funny thing is they don't factor in that if you don't score, you shot more. They are extrapolating the numbers based on the % decreasing (but their shots staying static) do they not know that if you don't score on a shot they can take more? Saying they will score 30 less goals becuase their shooting % will regress to the median but they won't take more shots. These guys clearly have no clue about the game.
Still cannot understand how the leafs regress in shooting and saves % but no others?

Because they're the Leafs man. Only the Leafs stats will get worse everyone else will stay the same or improve |

the point is that Carlyle is saying the Leafs need to be better in the areas Mirtle points out in that article. - DoubleDown
Like shooting % and save % and health?
Corsi is a flawed stat that is tried to be used (on its own ) to prove domething it doesn't prove. |

the leafs were well above what the average is. Do I think they can duplicate or improve on that? - No
I think they will come back to the average..somewhere between maybe.
Its possible they can improve in other areas. The team sv% was .917, that can improve for sure.
they should try to have the puck more, being 2nd last in possession can not be good no matter how you look at it. Maybe with players like Gardiner or Rielly whoever plays the most, clarkson, Bolland..something like that can improve.
I hope it does, I dont want to endure a long season again |

i like the call for Reimer. he's the incumbent. guy took the Leafs into playoffs. i think he deserves the first start based on tenure. Bernier gets tomorrow and then the competition is on. but i think giving Reimer the net tonight is the right thing to do. |
