Get off the drugs.
Kulemin benefited from Grabo's hard play that year.

no way Gardiner get 3M+... if he does he'll be winning the Norris, although after how they have been throwing that award around he might just have a shot...

if Ranger is worth 2.5 then he's had an amazing year.... I'm guessing we're looking more like 1.5-1.8 for 2 or 3 years.

and you forgot Kulemin, who's going to have a decent year statistically and will resign for 2.5.

- BorjeFan4Ever

Even better for the calculations then. Though I disagree about Kuli, he's a lock to not re-sign IMO along with Fraser.

He doesn't offer enough over some of the guys that we can bring up to be worth 3-4x as much in cap.

I totally agree with the bold

My opinion. It's one game - season opener in Montreal no less. The game will probably get a little nasty - I see no issue with sitting this one out. Heck he still may only stay up to play his 9 games but if the Leafs want, that could take 2 months - especially if they believe he's developing better here, surrounded by pro's and an NHL coaching staff - whether he's playing every game or not. I don't think there's a need to rush this guy into the lineup - yet, and I trust they know more of what Jake requires than we do.

from what I understand Parros is injured.... so no real tough guys to worry about in the Habs line-up.

no need to dress Orr in that case, and having McLaren - if he were available would probably just be too tempting for Gorges -he'd obviously would want another go ...

aside from that I'm not sure what other nastiness there might be...

We'll see in a few hours...woohoo!

George Parros will get a taste of the Canadiens-Leafs rivalry right off the bat.

The veteran enforcer who joined Montreal this summer has been declared fit to play in the NHL season opener against Toronto on Tuesday night at the Bell Centre.

With Leafs tough guy Frazer McLaren out with a broken finger, some are making wagers on how long it will take Parros to tangle with one of Toronto's other enforcers, like Colton Orr.

"It's a big game and I'm looking forward to it," Parros said Monday. "I had no pre-season games, but you've got to jump in at some point.

"It's a source of pride for me to be back on time. And given the nature of the game -- the first game at home against a rival like that -- I think it's going to be fun."

In one section of Hockey Abstract, Vollman examines the previous five NHL seasons and picks out the “luckiest” teams involved, with the 2012-13 Leafs eventually finishing No. 1 out of the 150 teams analyzed.

The leafs are the luckiest team in the league. Apparently the leafs had no injuries last year (do it will balance out this year). Apparently if you shoot and score you're lucky. If you save the puck you're lucky.

This is such nonsense. It cannot even be taken strikes any longer. It's becoming a farce. They have managed to say that the leafs scored a lot of goals due to luck and their shooting % will go down and they made a lot if lucky saves.

Funny thing is they don't factor in that if you don't score, you shot more. They are extrapolating the numbers based on the % decreasing (but their shots staying static) do they not know that if you don't score on a shot they can take more? Saying they will score 30 less goals becuase their shooting % will regress to the median but they won't take more shots. These guys clearly have no clue about the game.

Still cannot understand how the leafs regress in shooting and saves % but no others?
