It would appear so

When I see Carter and Gionta ( and I like both ) I see great fourth line players but I just dont know if they have the ability to play up in the line up. Like Bernier would be ok for short periods on the second line and in my mind could be a third liner. He just has slighty softer hands and a higher hockey IQ then the other two.

Bernier also can stand in the front of the net and take punishment well, and Gionta doesn't have the size to get that sort of job done.

ya im still not thrilled about the lines today but at least they are better then yesterday

Yeah for real. I'm terrified seeing Sal and Zid together but they've played together in the past. Hopefully it'll work.

Within the context of what they are supposed to be doing, I think that Bernier has more value as a 4th-liner/grinder with upside than Gionta. Josefsen has at least shown steps of progress this preseason. I like him more than I like Teddy, if we're comparing similar quantities.
