Yup, the goalie hoarder!

Can't believe you have Ovie ahead of Crosby/Malkin/Stamkos!

- Nucker101

That 2 man games a week.... is gonna make starting goalies valuable!

Do your back ups appearances count towards that number?

Do we have to set a roster for each game? Or is it automatic?

lol that is a bad thing? I wasn't sure if he isn't gonna be cut.... 16 fwds still up for SJ

I wanted to pick him up in case he sticks. With Torres out, that's another top 9 spot open for them. Good pickup. I almost drafted him with my last pick, but needed another d-man so I drafted Erik Johnson hoping he'll finally stay healthy and have a good season.

No doubt, If I had a late 1st round pick I was going to go goalie-goalie with my first two picks. I hope Edmonton sticks with Dubnyk and Bishop does decent in TB. It's daily lineups, so just start whoever's going to be playing on your team each day and bench the guys not playing. So yea, if you have more than 2 goalies, just play whoever's starting(there's 2 starting slots for goalies).

I think he'll be very good too, but Crosby's per game numbers blow everyone out of the water. Malkin and Stamkos I had close to Ovie with Tavares right behind that group, except they're all younger, so I had Stamkos ranked 2nd behind Sidney and was pumped to draft him at 3.

... and I thought Gillis' "reset" was done.... after Gillman's "all in".... what could Gillis possibly achieve?

Sarcasm aside... I wasnt expecting them to make any bold additions this off season.

It's daily, you have to set your lineups. Best thing to do is set for the week ahead every Sunday so your covered for your weekly matchup. Takes 5 minutes.

I think they're going to take a wait and see approach. Gillis still seems to be high on Booth, the law of averages and advanced numbers suggest that he's due to score 20+ this season if he can actually stay healthy. I think he realizes that the third line center hole is a big need, but like I pointed out in my last blog, they might be trying a different approach and using the second(Kesler) line to play the hard/tough minutes and free up the Santorelli-Booth line to play a more offensive role and hoping they can re-establish the chemistry they had in Florida when they both scored 20 goals together. It's the best way to go with the current roster IMO.

Next season...

Santorelli should be a short term resident of the 3rd line at best. We keep forgetting about Schroeder... well not me, he was one of my last bench picks last night.

How many goalie starts do we need per week? I potentially only have 1 starter...

Its usually 4.

I got screwed last season because of the starts or I would have been undefeated in the reg season.

changed to 2 before draft.... but I wasn't sure if that was starts or does it count when your goalie backs up on the bench.... because otherwise there will be weeks where your starter only plays 1 game!! so then your back up better play and he might not..... What happens if you don't make the min games?

You lose the gt categories. Been there...sucks. Injuries and who the coach dresses can kill you with the GT's. Best to have a 3rd GT even if he isnt a regular starter. I know someone last season stated it was a waste then we saw the complications often of only having 2.

If it's only 2 starts, then 2 gt's should suffice as far as mandatory starts go.... as long as they stay healthy or dont lose their crease to the back up for more than 1 game a week.

Oh okay, 2 seems reasonable since there's 20 teams and only 30 starters in the league, likely about 40 or so who will probably start 30+ games.

I wouldn't worry about not getting 2 starts unless you only have one goalie on your roster who is going to be starting 30+ games. You do forfeit and lose all goalie categories if you don't reach 2 games played by goalies each week. That rule is set in place because someone could have a backup that comes in of relief of the starter and stops 5 of 5 shots and you could just win the GAA and SV% stats without having to play anyone else. You'd lose saves and wins though, but still there's a good reason for that rule.

You lose 3 categories if you don't have enough starts. The 1 extra player you pick up instead of the GT better be able to win 3 categories by himself. Having a strong GT showing is a different topic.
