think it's top 3 in each division are automatics. next two best teams are wild cards. playoffs are back to divisional format but if one division puts 2 wilds cards into the playoffs, there's a cross over.

Moen on that fourth line instead of White is only justified by his contract, but I believe in second chances. That being said, he was far from impressive in preseason.

Potential to disappoint: Brendan Gallagher/Lars Eller.

I think Gallagher might be a disappointment. I really think what he brought to the team was energy, and he really benefited from playing with Prust. Now he's on a line that is expected to score a lot of goals.

As for Lars Eller, he's still a third line Centre. I think 50 points is very good for playing that roll. If people are expecting 60 points+, they are forgetting the ice time he will get compared to Desharnais and Plekanec.

agree. White plays with an edge and if he ever learns when not to punch people in the face, he'll be an effective 4th liner. he can skate, he hits, he drops the gloves. Moen just seems like he's going through the motions out there.

Can missing half of the season because of a concussion be considered as a disappointment?

That line will get 20 minutes icetime when the others are having an off night.

i don't think anyone is expecting Gallagher to score 30 goals but he should hit 20-25.

Moen looks like he's done, like someone who's body can't follow anymore.

That, or his time wrongfully spent in the top 6 of this team got to his head and he thinks he's elite stuff now.

I think 20 goals for him would be a great season. I think if he gets 15 goals with 25 assists, but keeps being a pest, fight some other midgets, annoy goalies and take the hits in front of the net without retaliating, it will be just as good as getting 25 goals and 30 assists without being the pest.

4 years was not a smart move by Bergevin on that one.

15 in 44 last season, plus 10 in the AHL. scored at a ridiculous pace in the WHL. so far he's put up impressive goal totals at all levels. i think anything under 20 for him (assuming he plays 75 games) would be a disappointment.
