i feel like today is going to bum me out

Unless they make a trade-which I'm not sure they can-there will really only be "paper" moves to get under the cap and LTIR Pronger.

CapGeek.com removed Gervais.
- jstross

Yeah, but he hasn't been officially sent to the AHL, so I added him back.

Even so, without Gervais, the the bottom line remains the same, if they send Hall and MAB down

True.... we are horrible at that
- GOA88

I think we need to get a save or two. Bryz was terrible at them. I seem to remember Ray being good at them (but that was pre surgery and with better lateral ability), and I haven't seen Mason. Can't be any worse..

Yeah Emery had some great stops and some great set-up re-bounds / turnovers in the last pre-season game.
Get those jitters out now boys!

He was pretty good except for the last preseason game as you say.. the goal he gave up to Ov was a horrible rebound. I feel that Mason never played with a real team in front of him and it didn't help at all. I hope it didn't affect his confidence. He needs to just forget about it and start the season like he finished last.

I have a feeling not much is going to be happening today... I am just ready for puck drop tomorrow night. Hockey season is finally here. Such a long offseason fellas, ready to get at it

Agreed on all accounts. So who starts in goal Wednesday? My guess is that's it's Ray.

What danger is there in the "paper moves" to become Cap compliant

Earlier Homer said he wouldnt do it... It seems benign as they did it before, maybe just an ego thing for Brayden Schenn or Sean Couterier ?

More drama than needed.

If no trades for D, do the paper deal, LTIR Pronger keep the 8 nhl defensemen including Gill if thats his hearts strange desire, send Bruno to A and assign the minutes/shifts properly

And tell Streit not to play like a second rate Joni Pittkanen, which is what I see from him, except he is weaker in his own zone, barfffff

The system MUST change or the coach and GM will very soon

I'd be stunned if Emery didn't start on Wednesday, no matter how "meh" he looked in DC.

I see Temple is keeping up with the Jones' in town.

Losses to Fordham, and Idaho.

Would have preferred Mason won the job, as Emery would be better suited coming off the bench. But you are probably right, Emery will start Wednesday night.

The division is so pathetic, I will worry when the Giants lose their 8th game.

I agree. I think I wanted Mason to jump up and pitch shut outs in preseason, but obviously that didn't happen.

Ray is the safe choice, IMO.

I can't wait to see the record of whichever team takes the east. Insert 7-9 Seahawks reference here.

Eagles are definitely not making the playoffs, that defense is horrible.

Yeah I think it would have to be Razor. Come on, he has the brownie points for being a veteran. I just hope his lateral movement is a little better than previous games. Once he gets in to game mode I think he will be alright

Very possible. How bout Big Red Andy Reid having last years 2-14 Chiefs 4-0, meanwhile the Chipster looks like a Super Clown.

I sure hope so, but its looking more and more like it isnt going to be the goaltenders fault this season, its the defense. Emery was a stud for Chicago and he just like every goalie in Philadelphia is getting lit up. Coincidence??? I think not

I still stand by my prediction that the Eagles will be an improved club this year. Five wins.

These are my questions as well and have been meaning to ask them (I removed the second part of the post as that was not my issue). What is the harm in making paper moves? Not sure the reason for Homer's resistance.

Yes Andy did leave him with a stable of studs to work with. Meanwhile Reid's script is familiar taking over a team with a lock down defense in place while he bumbles through his gameday plan.

Well someone else was the GM there and they did get a real quarterback.
Thats a nowhere to go but up scenario.
Most of his wins are against the NFC east so take it with a grain of salt.
Lets see if he is befuddled on the sidelines again mid season, having poor clock managment and 95% passing the ball/forgetting the ground game
