no
thats my point
if he plays like he did last year in a second pairing role where he has to defend against top opposition forwards then sure
plunked on the 3rd pairing facing 3rd and 4th liners doesnt prove poop to me. - Dozzer
Dude your standards are ridiculously harsh. You make it seem like only players who produce against top competition are worth anything. Who cares who a player produces against as long as they're producing? Goals are goals. |

perhaps, but he just didn't mesh with Kessel, and we have Kadri as our #2.
18 points in 55 total games with a -20...safe to say he wasn't gonna be our 3rd line center again this year - GardinerExpress
oh he was terrible in that role
i dont debate that |

The Leafs are going to be the NHLs youngest team opening night. |

I think with Rielly, there is a couple questions, is he going to make our team better, more likely to win games. I don't think so personally, I don't think he beat out any of the 6 guys in front of him for a job, he showed flashes of why he will one day, but he didn't look ready in my opinion. So the second question is, will he benefit from more NHL games? The answer is in my opinion, yes, if he get's enough ice time he will. I just don't think we can give him that ice time without making the team liable. I think he'll be on the second PP, which is fine with me, in that roll he makes the team better. But defensively, he's not ready. |

The real problem with Rielly is he can't go to the AHl. going back to junior is almost a wasted year of development. |

Saying his first job is D is like saying Colton Orr's first job is to score goals. That's not his strength. His job is to play to his strength which is offence. Erik Karlsson is not a pretty soft in the defensive zone. Does that matter? Tales all kinds to make a team and I don't believe you can pigeon hole players like that. |

basically, yes.
This has happened before to the Leafs. When the cameras caught Wilson exchanging money with players they got a huge fine. that's happened with many teams before but they didn't get punished.
I laughed at all the whining that Kessel got some special treatment.

If NHL is depending on TV images to validate any suspensions, would it not be automatically be obliged to ensure themselves that all games have sufficient TV/camera coverage to enforce these rules and possible suspensions..?

Suprisingly, Kale goes pretty well into those things.
Having said that, I have myself a "special" coffee on the go right now, so perhaps I'm not the best commentator here.... |

I find it hypocritical the league still gave him 3 games with no evidence of him leaving the bench, the 3 game suspension was for instigating a fight, yet John Scott wasn't given the same with video evidence.
