Apparently it worked for him. No one wants to play there otherwise. I think Snow has done an amazing job...much better than the Oil doormats.

Wow....that is shocking. Good for Feaster to say that publicly tho. You see them moving Colborne to wing? Who do you think this squeezes out? Since they didnt pick him up to send him down

I think they rotate centers for a little while so they can test out Colborne/Monahan at the NHL level and see who outplays the other. Monahan will have an even harder time now to make a point to stay up beyond nine games as Colborne(as in Toronto) will need to clear waivers if sent down. He played on the wing in Toronto and didnt do too bad, but his natural position is at center and its nice to have a big bodied guy like that down the middle.

What Colborne needs to work on is his physical game as he plays somewhat soft. Ive watched a lot of him play and he doesnt throw his size around. Hes got nice hands and can be an asset down low and around the net, but isnt a big offensive threat on his own...more of a complimentary player. If he can round out his physical game and continue to work on his skating, he can be a great 3rd line guy on most teams. Has the potential to fulfill a 2nd line role if hes able to find some consistency in his games with respect to points, as well.

should have signed Raymond for that.

raymond was to small and doesn't play gritty enough. Otherwise I'm sure he'd be here

I suspect that Cammi is still out. I project opening night to be something like this:

GlenX-Stajan-Stempniak
Backlund-Monohan-Hudler
Baertschi-Colborne-Jones
Bouma-Galiardi-Jackman

When Cammi returns, Monahan will be returned to junior and Backs will go back to 2nd line C.

I think 3rd and 4th line are going to have alot players rotating in and out. To see who earns time out of colborne/monahan/bouma/Jones

Is Beart hurt right now?

Just a thought guys, but Liles can be picked up for free given that hes on waivers so....Liles and Colborne for a 4th could still happen

And what do you guys think of Colborne btw...I know I've talked a lot about him...

- Colin Dambrauskas

My concern with colborne (even tho everyone says its a low risk high reward) is that we force him to play even though he doesn't pan out as we don't want to make it look like we wasted a 4th for nothing (can't risk putting him on waivers and losing him for nothing....then literally we traded a 4th for nothing)

even though we lack star power, we seemed to be overfilling with center depth in prospects
Monahan, Street, Bouma, Horak, Knight, B Jones (then Jankowski further down the road) that are looking at spots after Stajan/Backlund

Bjones is gone
Street is gone

So after Stajan/Backland we have Monahan, Colborne that I consider good for the 3rd. Bouma, Knight, Horak, Reinhart or more suited for the 4th but I think keeping those last 3 in ABB would be better for them for the year.

Being deep at Center isn't a bad thing in any way at all. It's a luxury that we haven't seen in over a decade.

As many have said, this is a low risk/potentially high reward move for the Flames.

Is Colborne a big body, play making centre who can produce 50-60 points or an underachieving , kinda soft bust?

Not sure but to find out it only cost you a fourth rounder which is more than reasonable for a guy with his ceiling.

Hope it works out and he has a great year for my second favourite team.
