Hopefully Patterson stunk it up today

Solid year from Stollie and he should be fighting for a starters job on team USA.

Patterson gave up 6 goals but I didn't watch, I went with Plymouth & Kingston. Right now it's Kitchener & Oshawa.

Phillies lock up 7th pick. I wonder if they can get a competitive balance pick next?

Expect a pitcher to be selected & then wait 6 years to ever hear his name again.

So as it stands right now there are a few issues.

1. Laughton didn't play well enough to make the team
2. He's going to be centering Rinaldo and Rosehill

This franchise really makes it hard to trust them. Hopefully they trade a d-man for a forward tomorrow, and let Hall center the 4th line, and send Laughton back to Juniors as it appears he's not ready.

IIRC, they have 9 more gms to evaluate laught before the clock on his ELC starts...

I've seen conflicting reports on that. Not sure what the deal is. From what I have seen and read Laughton didn't play that well. Then again, no one really did. He may be winning a roster spot by default.

I understand they're interested in a defensive center(fielder).

So, on a side note...I went to Flyers practice today. Stood behind Mason for most of the practice. I didn't see one puck get past him. I know it was just practice, but he still looked real strong. I thought I saw Vorachek at the start of practice, but if he was there, he wasn't there for long. Hartnell and Roo were flying. Both were noticeably busting ass. Vinny looked like he was just going thru the motions. Laughton didn't impress.

LOL. I think they'll trade one either Hernandez, who adapted pretty quickly, or Revere.

They need:

1 maybe 2 starters.

RH power Bat with good OBP

2 upgrades in the BP

Ryan Howard to be even just a shell of his former self. I don't care about his salary he wouldn't sniff an AB against a lefty with a pathetic .250-.260 OBP over the last 3 years.

Stuck with Jimmy for hopefully only 1 more year, but his contract vests pretty easily.

They offer Mike Trout 10 years 350 million. Blow him out of the water and bring the best player in baseball to the hometown team for the rest of his career.

Per Pistachio:
Right winger Jakub Voracek, who is believed to have a bruised lower back, began practice Sunday but did not finish.

Holmgren said that was by design.

“That was the plan going in,” he said. “I believe he was out there 35-40 minutes then take him off the ice and hold him back a little bit. He’s doing fine. I have no doubt in saying he will be a player on Wednesday.”

There's several real good QBs next year, but Luck was a once every 10 years kind of QB. The defense has to be rebuilt from the ground up. They're just don't have the talent.

I would trade a ton for Trout, but he's not getting traded.

Actually it doesn't unless your saying that it includes bonuses equalling zero. It shows you that they are 16,002 over the cap with $0 bonuses.

SALARY CAP: $64,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $67,116,022; BONUSES: $2,800,000
CAP SPACE (22-man roster): -$16,022

- jstross

It clearly says bonuses $2,800,000. Look at the math. The Upper Limit is 64.3M. The Flyers Cap payroll is $67,116,022.

Neither 1 or 2 is an issue. Who says that Laughton didn't play well enough to make the team? Or that he's not ready? What the Flyers think is all that matters. I have no idea what makes it so hard to trust them.

Thanks. I thought I saw him out there.

Schenn replaced him on the first line and Reed was on the second. Hall was at practice.

But it clearly says Cap Space $16,022. Which figure do they need to hit by tomorrow at 5 PM? Do they need to save $16,022 K or 2,816,022 K by 5 PM tomorrow?

They need to cut 16,022 according to what you posted.

So as far as the league is concerned the bonuses on day one don't count.

Bonuses always count until it is deemed the player cannot earn those bonuses. Teams can use the Bonus Cushion to get Cap Compliant.

Another highlight from today's practice was when Rosehill beat Emery twice in one drill and then did the Ovechkin celebration where he kisses his hand and then points to the sky. Soft hands.
