You can set your lineup for the week, one day at a time, but still in advance. Still I update daily in case of injury or hot streaks etc.

Yup, I set it a week in advance, but check every day or two just to make sure that I have the right guys in the lineup. Doesn't take too long, just bookmark your team page and I think Yahoo has an app as well.

24-year-old defenceman. RT @TSNBobMcKenzie: VAN claims Ryan Stanton from CHI.

Talent Analysis

Stanton is a physical defenseman. Though he is known more for his tough defensive play, the 6'2 205-pound blueliner is not afraid to pitch in offensively. Does not possess a ton of skill, but plays a smart, steady game.

Hmm, Chicago is pretty deep on the blueline so getting waived by the Hawks, especially as one of their last cuts can't be too bad. Lets see what Hawks fans think of him.

Sounds like a physical d-man with limited offensive abilities that is a little inconsistent. Note he also shoots L, not sure if he can play the RS or not.

Decent points in the AHL, I'm guessing he's a bit better than Alberts with the puck. I think he's played a big role in the former AHL affiliate rivalry between the Hawk and Canuck farm teams too, I believe he's been in a few scarps and involved in the brawl or two and his PIM's are high so he's probably a fighter. Plus he's a 24 year old d-man, sounds like someone I'd rather give a chance too rather than Alberts. There's too many players on the roster right now.

Figured he would get claimed, unfortunately for him he was their 9th d-man behind Brookbank and Kostka.

Interesting that he was behind Brookbank, they seem very similar to me, except Stanton is a lot younger.

I don't disagree, although Brookbank is a veteran and Q will always go with the more experienced guy, especially on defense.

Not surprising, most coaches in the NHL seem to prefer the vets whenever it's a close-call, even though most fans think the complete opposite.
