Gillis needs to trade for a legit top 6 scorer and then the team will be unstoppable.
Sedin Sedin Burrows
Kassian Kesler Hansen
Higgins Santorelli Schroeder
Dalpe Richardson Booth
Weise
Sestito - hankthetank
Unstoppable isn't the word I use unless that top 6 is Crosby/Stamkos/Malkin etc |

With the fleecing Gillis has pulled off, I wouldn't put it past him.
Sestito for Crosby+
Philly, Detroit and Boston need to shed some money. Maybe an opportunity for Gillis. |

None of those teams need to shed salary. Alferdsson has a 2 mill base salary. Same for Iginla and Pronger to the LTIR |

Calgary with 13 mil in cap space and first crack at waivers over Canucks may scoop up any worth while players released . |

Well, there are teams that need to shed salary out there. Gillis can swoop in and make a steal. |

Stop putting Kassian with the twins. - Scooby_Doo
Agreed. Kassian is 3rd line material at this point in time. |

Why does everyone put Dalpe in the lineup already? Havent seen much of him, but his stats are not that of a 4th liner... except for the lack of points part. - Scooby_Doo
And all indications are that he isn't a good 4th line player. |

Fantastic interview with Torts on the TSN main page. - hankthetank
Just saw that. It was just a sample. I cant believe the kid gloves he's wearing while in front of the media. Its almost embarrassing and I feel kind of awkward watching it. Hopefully the media is satisfied with this topic soon. I dont think he'll hate our local guys too much.... its their jobs to promote whats handed to them by the Canucks for the most part. There's always a heavy dose of positive out of every member here after hey play critic briefly. Torts can save it for the road. In our scrum there will be no aggressive wolf pack like in NYC. Maybe Gillis and him can vent it by teaming up on HNIC... Im all for that!
A few of our players could use some heat in their ear once in a while. AV/Bowness may have tainted Bieksa by patting on the back reassuringly when ever he was struggling. His "casual" play became a habit. Who knows how better a player like Bieksa could have been if he was handled differently? Maybe he would have irreversible good habits instead. |

It's a 10 minute sample interview? When is the rest of it gonna come?
Gillis will keep the reins tight on Torts and his dealing with the media. Thought it was a pretty good and honest interview. I used to think it was mostly an act from Torts but he seems like he just reacts without thinking. |

The Titans look great. Hell if not for the weird loss to the Texans, they'd be 4-0 after today |

Exactly, whether its 3rd or 4th line, they must have something in mind |

I don't buy the "not a good 4th line player, might be okay on a 3rd line" type of stuff. Either he's an effective NHL player or not. Time will tell. |

I don't buy it. The defense has played solid, but I don't trust Locker. |

I'm not directing this at you but previous posters....
It's always the flavour of the month with Canucks fans. He's suspended and not playing, therefor, makes him a third liner. Nothing is linear. Quit dealing in absolutes. When he plays with the twins, and scores goals, he's a force. To me, he's somwhere inbetween. A guy that can play up on the first line to provide some grit, puck possession, net front presence, finishing and playmaking ability, while also playing on the second and third lines, depending on personel and chemistry. It's embarrassing for people to be okay with him being a third liner in his prime, which would be a complete bust of epic proportions, considering he was one of if not THE most dominate players in the AHL at the age of 21, and with his tools. He's still developing and imo has improved. He just needs to focus more. The f8cking seaosn hasn't even begun yet. Give him at least 15 games to see where he's at compared to last year. He'll be with the Twins when he's back, and anyone who says otherwise are just pessimists, though you'll claim to be realists. It's a fact that he with the twins provides better depth throughout the lineup. |

see this is what makes people attack you. They didn't contribute more - Bieksa#3
post trade 2011/12
Samuelsson 54gp 13g 15a 6 ppg 74 hits *5 playoff points*
Sturm 42gp 3g 2a 46 hits
= 16g 18a 120 hits 5 playoff points
Booth 56gp 16g 13a 3 ppg 69 hits 1 playoff point
= 16g 13a 3 ppg 69 hits 1 playoff point
Both players left Florida so theres no comparing after that. Besides, Booth has been mostly injured since then.
I do get attacked by people for pointing this stuff out,,,, true. It says more about those people.

When everyone is back I think it will be
Sedin Sedin Kassian
Booth Kesler Burrows
Higgins Santorelli Hansen
Dalpe Richardson Sestito
Weise - VANTEL
Not if Gillis has anything to say about it (and he will) he has been quoted as saying he believes Dalpe is a Center, not a winger like he has been used in Carolina... |
