ya his ELC expires after this season. thing is if he turns out to suck he wont be worth much, if he turns out to be great he wont be worth much without being already signed to a nice contract, which the leafs would likely only do if they plan on keeping him.

I think it totally depends on how they address the expiring contract extensions of all the defensemen.

Why would they recall Percy, and Macwilliam? We don't need defenseman. Secondly, the other guys are never going to make the NHL, why do the Leafs even bother with guys like those...Are you sure this is real? I don't see any reports of them being called up anywhere else.

Well I'm pretty certain he'll be the starter for the regular season, so I'm not surprised.

I think the call ups have more to do with Randy sending a message because of last nights performance. Hopefully a big trade is coming to make room for Rielly. I don't think Carlyle likes Gardiner that much and sees him as a wild card. Maybe Leafs could move Bozak and Gards to Col for O'Reilly?
