Does anyone else think Gardiner is gonzo traded see ya later.... Once rielly makes this team? - TonkaPhaneuf
Honestly if they aren't going to use Gardnier I see them holding him to February and packaging him to the Avs for O' Reilly. |

I'm just surprised not one team in the league could use Liles services, especially a team like the Islanders, after losing Streit. |

I'm sure there a at least a few - the hold back is his $3.75 mil/year...
Now that we're on the topic, maybe the real trade is gardiner - maybe Nonis see's an opportunity to trade now that he has Reilly? |

I really hope not, Gardiner has the potential to grow into a top pairing defenseman. Carlyle needs to ease up on the guy, reminding me of Wilson with Kadri. Let the guy show what he can do without trying to change his game too much, at the end of the day, his skill got him into the NHL. |

Or at least sure he can play this year if that's the root they want to go. |

Liles and Colborne should be packaged into a deal for future considerations, anything. |

Why not? Realistically,Colborne isn't going to amount to anything more than a David Steckel type player, minus the great faceoff skills. It would make a team want to take on Liles more willingly, as Colborne still has potential, but highly unlikely he'll ever reach it in Toronto. |

Yeah but if both are going I want to get something back even a 3 or 4 round pick. |

We get cap space, and rid of Liles. I'd be happy. |

ya his ELC expires after this season. thing is if he turns out to suck he wont be worth much, if he turns out to be great he wont be worth much without being already signed to a nice contract, which the leafs would likely only do if they plan on keeping him. |

Any chance 1 or 2 of the guys recalled today are being played so a potential trade partner can take a look at them 1 more time? One of them being added in to a bigger trade. ? |

What makes you think he'll make it anywhere else - at this point it looks like his value is relatively diminished. |
