This would be a cute cuddly post, if only the season had already started and we could enjoy the games where AHL plugs aren't running rampant. Besides, how dare fans discuss/debate the state of their teams. Silly Leaf fans.

Yeah, all this fancy math stuff... Cut it out, eggheads!

Get back to picking apart inconsequential games like good Leafs fans.

when re-signing your current (non Cup contending) roster puts you over the estimated cap, that's certainly not an ideal situation. but TBH, the flexibility is a nice thing to have. Leafs can potentially move on from a lot of pieces on that roster.
- DoubleDown

Depends which pieces they plan on moving on from, and what they plan on replacing them with. I think given the age of the majority of players, there is really no need to move players any more than there is a reason to let them grow.

After the heavy criticism from StargateSG1, i believe the winner of this game will go on to hoist the cup.

J. Schultz does that. Rarely takes a slap shot... Well placed wrister can be much more effective.

Watching Rielly play big minutes, eventhough it's a preseason game against AHL'ers, you have to wonder if we shouldn't be shopping Gardiner. We have enough veteran defensemen to play the season, even without Gardiner. Maybe we should be visiting the Islanders and dangling Gardiner. I've mentioned it before, that they have someone that we could use, in Ryan Strome. He'll never unseat John Tavares as the Islanders top centre, but he could become ours, in a year or two. We fill another hole, at centre, going forward and we fill the hole with Rielly, if we move Gardiner.

Love him, hopefully he gets a tryout with the big team sometime this year. I think he will be a regular some day in his career.

I really don't think Rielly=Gardiner right now. Gardiner is on a whole different level when he has the puck.

Yea, seriously. Why have two good players when you can have just one. Then again, ever think that Gardiner and Rielly are part of a long term plan and not which Dmen we have this season? What, exactly, does Strome do to improve this team this season?
