Move Gardiner to forward, keep Liles - trade some (frank)er upfront or Gardiner - Garnie

Skimming though parts of the last couple threads, I'm still not sure how this "Maple Leafs cap hell" scenario is supposed to make sense. I went to look at CapGeek to see if I figure out what people were talking about.
As far as I can tell, our 2014-15 roster will look like this:
Lupul: 5.25
Clarkson: 5.25
JVR: 4.25
Bozak: 4.2
Liles: 3.875
Gunnarsson: 3.15
Bernier: 2.9
Kadri: 2.9
Orr: 0.925
McLaren: 0.7
7 forwards, 2 defensemen, and 1 goalie.
Total under contract: 33.4 million
Assuming we want to go with the exact same roster, add in:
Kessel @ 8
Phaneuf @ 7
Franson @ 4
Fraser @ 1.3
Ranger @ 1.5
Gardiner @ 2.5
Reimer @ 2.9
Kulemin @ 3
Bolland @ 4
McClement @ 2.5
Raymond @ 2
Random AHL forward @ 0.8
Altogether, you've got 13 forwards, 7 defensemen, and 2 goalies.
Total: 72.9 million
So, yeah, it's a little over next year's projected cap (let's say 68-69 million), but let's keep in mind that I've got Liles slotted in, Kessel and Phaneuf at their absolute ceilings, and Reimer making 2.9 (same as Bernier). In reality, they'll probably move a goalie and bring in a back-up around 1 mil.
I've also got Bolland and McClement getting raises, as well as Raymond getting resigned. You've got some wiggle room in the bottom six to play bargain-basement AHLers or find another Jay McClement type of gem in free agency.
Right away, you can probably shave 3-4 million off that 72.9 figure. Boom. Done.

Yeah, I'm willing to bet most of us do.

After the heavy criticism from StargateSG1, i believe the winner of this game will go on to hoist the cup. |

Amazing how that works out, no video evidence so it was dropped to 3 games, those 3 games were for sparking a fight.
Guess Scott didn't spark a fight? |

Yeah, this appeal stinks of more NHL inconsistency. Reminds me a lot of the Close bull poop last year.
If there was no evidence, why suspend him at all? It should be 0 or 10, should it not?
I hope this bodes well for Clarkson. |

So, do they just not take the refs word for it that Bisonnette left the bench? It's pretty black and white, either he's on it or not. It's not like they need video to evaluate the savagery of the incident, like when the Evildoer Kessel went on his kill-crazy ramapage and tried to mutilate John Scott. |
