Further to the previous paragraph, eligible long-term injury space is calculated on the day the player is placed on LTIR. If the salary cap is $70.0 million and the team has a $69.0 million cap payroll the day Player A with a $4.0 million cap hit is placed on LTIR, the team's cap payroll or "Averaged Club Salary" can only exceed the cap by $3.0 million at any point thereafter.

It's the same deal that we talked about before. Placing him on LTIR before the start of the Season will limit it. The Flyers will be in LTIR on Day 1 and over the Upper Limit, so therefore, Pronger's LTIR allowance will be maxed out. If the trade Meszaros, they will wait to place Pronger on LTIR until they have to.

Nope.

I see it completely differently. This team is built around some excellent young players, and a boatload of talent. Sure they're missing a few pieces, but overall they have a solid nucleus. I see more of a tweaking then tearing it to pieces. They did that obviously with the Carter/Richards deals, but since then they've identified a core, and a direction. You can bail and say that the team is f'ed, but I'm still excited about this team. They have the talent. They just need to do a better job becoming a team. That's on Coaching as far as I'm concerned. I think that's the biggest issue with this team.

yea, i don't really see the logic behind that one. i'm really not usually one to complain about them keeping fighter types on the roster. but prioritizing them over useful players like hall when you have to waive someone is something i can't get behind

even if they want laughton at center, i'd take hall on the wing over both rosehill and rinaldo

I think we'll find that this was done for flexibility, and likely has to do with preparing for a potential move that is in the works. Have to let it play out and see what happens. Just because Hall was waived, doesn't mean he's not going to be on the team. Waiver take 24 hours, and every team needs to finalize their roster on Monday. So waiving anyone on Sunday is too late.

There is no such thing as being over. Penalty is forfeiture of games. The Flyers will have to be Cap Compliant on Sept 30th.
