Yeah, what Parise did is way worse than what Kovy did. You can't blame a player for wanting to go to his home country. Parise was in his home country, strung NJ along, and then f#@!ed NJ at the last second and signed in Minnesota with the ridiculous excuse, "NJ would have been my second choice." Sure, we get draft picks and prospects from being "second place" in your heart.
He's as bad as the cheating girlfriend that tells you, after lying to you for a long time, "Well you're such a nice guy, I didn't want to hurt your feelings!" As soon as he was UFA eligible, he bolted.
For all we know, Kovy comes back in four years and we can get him much cheaper; he'll only be a 25-35 goal scorer by then and play the Mogilny second line sniper role, but that's okay. Parise's never coming back; he and Suter both completely screwed their own organizations to go join that screwed organization. Nashville and NJ will recover with playoff appearances this year while Minnesota is gonna suck for the rest of his life so long as Fletcher is there. |

From a human standpoint I think Kovy's was worse only because by contract he was already committed to being here. Parise followed the FA process. So Zach is the cheating GF, Kovy the cheating wife perhaps?
As for Minnesota, they have a lot of good young players. Eventually they will be good year-in and year-out you would think. Seth Jones should help Nashville ease the loss of Suter and I already feel really good about where the Devils are now and moving forward. They have a good cap situation, mostly favorable contracts (besides Clowe), plus young D and goaltending to rebuild the team in its former image. I can't wait for the season to start. A lot of people in certain areas of this message board are going to be surprised, and yours truly isn't about to let them forget it.
Loved the girlfriend analogy though. Especially with the mood I'm in. |

This is a joke. Kovalchuk left after signing a 15 year contract. 3 years into he leaves. Parise left as a FA which was within in rights. Parise should have never been signed to that stupid 1 year contract, and Lou refused to negotiate with him during the season. It is on Lou for Parise leaving. Kovalchuk just left for the money not for going home. If you believe Kovalchuk wanted to go home just for family you are very much wrong. |

Guess what who cares ? we are going to make the play offs without all of them (Parise, Kovalchuk, Clarkson) none of them play for the Devils anymore so why does anyone care. Lou doesn't care, Pete doesn't care and I am sure as poop that Scott Stevens doesn't care either. |

^^This....it's not about what's on the back of your jersey with this organization, it's has always been about the front. If you look at our so-called stars of the past or present they are much different then other teams "Stars". It's always about "team" first and doing the little things that help win games, not just loading up on your stat card. |

Hells yeah! I'm excited about the team this year. I like the way they are built and think we will all be happy with the results this year. |

I see your point but Parise was NEVER going to sign an extension here as long as he was getting Married. Wife wanted home so he went home. I don't blame him because all of us who are married (been for 20yrs) knows a happy women makes a happy household and your household comes before your job. I wish them both good luck, both left for good reasons and if Parise ever gets divorced (wish I hope he doesn't but that would be the only way he'll get to leave Minny), I would welcome him back just like I would with Kovy. |

I still have a Parise Figure in its package. It was when he wore an A I am hoping maybe at some point it will be worth something |

A figures he would be going back there I wonder if this means Janssen earned to tough guy spot or what ? I haven't been impressed with either player fight wise to be honest. It would be nice for me anyways if we had an Eric Godard/ Steve Macintyre type of heavy weight that rarely loses because you don't need these middleweights you can dress every night and I like to see our boys beating the piss out of guys. I know a lot of you guys would rather play a red wings style with no tough guys and all skill but that is just way to soft of hockey for my liking lol |

Redwings style all the way it's useless to have these plugs on the roster instead of a guy like Teddy, Olesz, Gio, and Josefson. I'd much rather have these guys in case of injury and not risk having them go through waivers. I think there is zero chance Cam is on the roster. |

Agreed, nobody is going to take Janssen off waivers so he'll be the next to get sent down. It really comes down between four guys ...Fayne-Urbom or Teds-Gio in my eyes. Losers will either get traded or waived. I rather waive Gio but I do believe Teds will get waived and might not get claimed. I believe Omark (who is very similar to Teds) got waived earlier this week and nobody claimed him. |

What are we at 27 guys right now in camp? Need to be down to 23? I agree if comes between Teddy and Gio hopefully we keep Gio hate to see him be sent down or claimed. How old is Omark? I could see someone giving Teddy a shot. Low risk/high reward situation he really isn't that old still. |

Well Janssen and Kinkaid go down that leaves us with 25. I think Fayne will probably be traded and one guy will be put on IR getting it down to 23 |

Thanks you just answered my question I posted. It'll probably Teddy getting waived. His breakouts were a little rough even in the games he played well. That will work against you in this organization big time. |
