Ive been saying for while now (along with many others) that I believe the cap will be around 69-70 million next season.

Phaneuf will still be too costly for his value.

Saw an article on Sportsnet saying latest projections are 67. 70 would be a hell of a revenue jump from 11-12 but I suppose it's possible.

They are going to put nicknames on jerseys instead of last names to open up a new revenue stream.

They are eliminating the shoot-out.

All ties will now be settled by Texas hold'em poker.

I have a feeling its going to sky rocket to 70-74 after last year.
Especially Leafs making the playoffs and dumping all that money into the League

Weren't you the one that repeatedly said Leafs will NOT be able to sign both Franson and Kadri?? Most said they would - you argued.

So, in response to your last line - yeah, you are wrong, as usual.

- Cooshie

No. I argued they would not get them long term. They both did accept less than I thought, but neither are locked in and that is going to end up costing more in the long haul. Geez I love how bitter you guys get when someone tries to discuss anything....

I am surprised they got Franson signed for 2 million. But the one year is huge. Gotta imagine the Leafs are ready to walk away from Dion if they have to.

81 = lumberjack? That would be cool for the back of his jersey. Wouldn't add any more of a target I bet ( total sarcasm )

Well, considering the Leafs weren't offering long term deals at this point in time, and had clearly stated that, thanks for pointing out the obvious.

If Franson steps up his game again this year, he replaces Phaneuf on the Blue line at 2mill cheaper.

I can't possibly see how modelling your league marketing after the XFL can be a bad idea.

That won't happen if Franson has a down year and Phaneuf re-signs for $4.5M
- PatC80

If Phaneuf plays anything like he did last year (minutes/production) theres about zero chance he resigns with Toronto for less than 6 per.

Not what they wanted but a small deal for this year

I think he'd really have to turn it up for us to let Dion go.
